Who inspired you? On a personal level, my parents helped and encouraged me to accomplish my dreams. Professionally, I would have to say co-workers John Norkaitis of Oldies 92 and Tim Hagstrom, program director of WQSM 98 Fayetteville, N.C., Citadel’s general manager Bill Palmeri and former 97 BHT co-host Jennifer Starr. What is something most people don’t know about you? Most people wouldn’t know there is a shy side to me. I could be in a hallway with two people walking toward me and become shy. On the other hand, I could get up in front of 5,000 people and introduce a national recording artist. How do you define balance in your life? When I interview people, the first thing I ask is, “What do you do outside of work?” I believe that is what creates a healthy balance in all individuals. What do you like most about your community? I can still remember my grandmother saying this is the Valley with a Heart; it still resonates. It is amazing how tight-knit the community is, how it is changing and growing with so many talented individuals under the age of 40. What did you want to be when you grew up? My original plan was to be a school teacher. I was one in 60 high school students accepted for the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for teaching. What was your first job? At age 15 I worked at WYOS FM in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania.

He insisted on shadowing professionals in the field to gain as much experience as he could. In Chadwick’s senior year of high school, he became a full time overnight radio announcer for 97 BHT. His talent did not go unnoticed, and almost one year later they moved him to afternoons. In 2001, “The Jenn and A.J. Morning Show” made its debut on 97 BHT, and soon after he became music director and assistant program director.
