 It started its activities after 1994’s genocide , in 1995 as
a small clinic with one Specialist doctor(the owner) and one nurse for usual cares and a lab technician. It was dealing with out patients, in patients, deliveries but no surgical operations. ď‚— After a small time, it became a polyclinic

ď‚— In 1998, after shifting the location, polyclinic la Croix
du sud started surgical operations and was performing with +/- 1000 deliveries per year.

Starting of La Croix du Sud Hospital In 2009, after many efforts,
Polyclinic La Croix du Sud became a Hospital after moving to its new building at Remera, Gasabo District. The staffs were composed with: - five specialists (2G.O., Surgeon, ENT, Dentist ), - part time gynecologists, - 25 Nurses, 5 lab technicians, - one physiotherapist - and 90 beds with three theatres for surgery. Outpatients +/- 150 per day. Bed occupation: >80% With 1400-1600 Deliveries per year.

Way Forward The Hospital is intending to always improve the quality of its services. To achieve this challenge, it has to extend the capacity of its infrastructure and adding new services. New services to be added are: - In Vitro Fecondation (IVF) which - Upgrade Imaging Dpt( CT scan, MRI), - Dialysis Unit, Orthopedic unit, - Cancer treatment(Medical), Cardiac surgery, renal treatment, etc.
