What is You Gotta Eat This?
You Gotta Eat This! (YGET) is a website dedicated to featuring food content from all across the world. Rap Legend Bun B and Tastemaker Premium Pete combined their talents to create YGET, which officially launched on June 6, 2013. In addition to the pioneers who lead this premiere food website, YGET has a staff of worldwide writers along with a network of celebrity guest contributors which include the likes of famous chefs, artists, and foodies from around the globe!
Internship Position Descriptions
1. PR/Community Outreach Intern
Key Responsibilities: • • • • • • •
Create/update/organize Press Kits Document articles and any news coverage regarding YGET Create databases featuring publicity contacts for websites and blogs Create proposals on how to gain more exposure for YGET on a local and national level Create and maintain partnerships with local college organizations and restaurants Special projects as assigned Live outside the box, be creative, be original, express your ideas and be you!
Qualifications: • • • • • • •
Dedicate 10 hours per week from Mid-May – August 2014 Strong background in public relations/publicity Experience developing relationships with local communities and/or school organizations Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi task Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and conditions Excellent written and oral communication skills (i.e. e-mail, phone, skype, etc.) Passion for food, music and people!
2. Editorial Interns (2) Key Responsibilities: • • • • • •
Edit/Proofread YGET posts for grammatical errors, sentence structure, SEO, stylization, broken links and image issues Write informative reviews and articles of local food spots and food products Conduct interviews with Chefs, business owners and popular food enthusiasts Send YGET Press Kits to local restaurants and tastemakers to schedule tastings and/ or interviews Pitch article and interview ideas Live outside the box, be creative, be original, express your ideas and be you!

Dedicate 10 hours per week from Mid-May – August 2014 Strong background in AP style copyediting Must be thorough and have strong attention to detail Strong background in interpersonal communication skills Ability to develop and maintain relationships Working knowledge of WordPress Ownership of a camera (DSLR or Mirrorless) and photography skills is a plus Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and conditions Excellent written and oral communication skills (i.e. e-mail, phone, skype, etc.) Passion for food, music and people!
3. Social Media Intern Key Responsibilities: • • • • • • • •
Manage YGET’s social media accounts including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook Creatively post recent articles and interviews to Twitter and Facebook Strategically post select food pictures to Instagram Develop proposals for increasing engagement amongst YGET readers via social media platforms Pitch ideas for increasing YGET’s social media presence Develop ideas on how YGET can use social media to create national trends Analyze YGET’s social media data Live outside the box, be creative, be original, express your ideas and be you!

Dedicate 10 hours per week from Mid-May – August 2014 Experience in managing social media accounts Thorough knowledge of social media operations Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and conditions Excellent written and oral communication skills (i.e. e-mail, phone, skype, etc.) Passion for food, music and people!
4. Design Intern Key Responsibilities: • • • • • • • •
Layout of monthly newsletters and internal staff communications Create visuals for social media usage Work in partnership with writers and editors to secure imagery to accompany feature articles Editing images that contributors feature in posts Assist Senior Production Editor with conception and creation of marketing and advertising collateral Create photo slideshows and “Top 10” lists Pitch article and interview ideas Live outside the box, be creative, be original, express your ideas and be you!

Dedicate 10 hours per week from Mid-May – August 2014 Strong familiarity with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign a MUST Strong familiarity with WordPress (HTML) or other CMS systems Previous experience producing graphic art Strong Creative Commons ethics and knowledge of Intellectual Property laws Strong editorial news judgment Ability to work well under pressure Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and conditions Excellent written and oral communication skills (i.e. e-mail, phone, skype, etc.) Passion for food, music, and people!
