And far as talking yes I do talk with the photographer to get directions and a feel on what look their looking for in a shot. TNS.COM: What comments do you have about frugal fashion smart or petty? ANGELA WILLIAMS: To me frugal is shopping smart especially if you're always in front of a camera as long as it look each expensive. TNS.COM: How do you describe working with the photographer? ANGELA WILLIAMS: Working with Kendra Pipkins of Simply Beautiful Photography is amazing. She makes the photo shoot so easy. Once her camera starts clicking it’s like my body automatically knows what to do and I just give it to her and its wonderful everytime.

Straight From The Pros: African American Makeup Tips By: Total Beauty Women of color have some of the most gorgeous skin tones but may find their makeup choices limiting — Check out this guide featuring some of the best African American makeup tips and products for that perfect glow When browsing the makeup counters at department stores, some women of color may find that not all cosmetics lines cater to their beauty needs. In other words, it can be difficult to find makeup for African American skin. Some makeup lines simply do not have foundations that go dark enough, causing one to look washed out, while others may lack the colors that will show up on darker skin. Los Angeles Makeup artist Phil Ranger shares some African American makeup tips to help you achieve the ultimate look. 1) Face: Avoid makeup that is too light, as it can make skin look chalky. Yellow-based foundations work best for women with darker skin. The goal is to see the makeup disappear after applying it on your skin, with no visible boundary between. Test foundation colors in natural light — if you have trouble finding the right color, try mixing two shades (one darker than your natural color and one lighter). When searching for blush or bronzer, brown and copper complement African American skin tones. A touch of shimmer will highlight cheekbones nicely. 2) Lips: Earth tones, neutrals, pinks and dark burgundy instantly add glam to lips. For a more natural look, dab on some lip-gloss. Choose a lip liner that is close to the shade of your lip-gloss or lipstick to avoid a dark outline. 3) Eyes: Shimmery and metallic eye shadows can look amazing against African American skin. Mixing two complimentary colors like gold and purple can boost the drama factor. The darker your skin, the brighter the colors you can pull off. Accentuate eyes with brown or black eyeliner. Black mascara will make eyelashes stand out. For extra pizzazz, try false eyelashes. For those looking for the best makeup for African American women, there are several noteworthy lines. Supermodel Iman founded IMAN Cosmetics in 1994, a collection that features makeup for women of all shades. Cover Girl carries the Queen collection line, which actress Queen Latifah posing as the new face for the cosmetics. Cover Girl has some of the best makeup for African American women, and includes everything from concealer to nail polish. M.A.C. is another popular brand that carries a variety of shades and bright shadows and lip colors to give darker skin that extra pop. Black Radiance is dedicated completely to women of color, and Fashion Fair is the oldest and most established makeup brand for black women. Combine these African American makeup tips along with the best makeup for African American women for the ultimate beauty experience.

It’s Time for ManTalk Why The Concept Of “FREE” Does Not Exist In A Successful Relationship By: How To Get The Man Of Your Dreams (MOYD) Dictionary.com defines Whore as a (noun): 1. A woman who engages in promiscuous sexual intercourse, usually for money; prostitute; harlot; strumpet. I know you all like free t-shirts and concert tickets from V103, Power 106, 94.7 the Wave or whatever your favorite radio station is. But men are not the radio. Ladies, if you cannot truly offer to leave a tip after a nice dinner then you should not go on the date. Suggest something like, “How about I save you some money. Let’s go to the grocery store and I will make you a home-cooked meal. The whole point is, you have to do something besides look pretty or you are “hoing.” If the man insists on spending his money, it’s okay for you to accept, but know that now he is your ho. It is what it is, “Big Willy”.

Trust, if you really want to find out what’s on a prospective Man of your Dreams’ (MOYD) mind, test him. Ask him this simple question: “Hey Bob, instead of you taking me to dinner, how about you just give me the cash, and I will be your dessert?” The truth will be revealed in his response, which nine times out of 10 will be, “Okay, Suzy, I really wasn’t hungry anyhow. I am a dessert man.” Bob just told you that his priority is to have sex with you. It’s the major reason he is taking you out and paying for your dinner. This is how most men think, with our third leg first, then rationalize our actions later. Would he have had the same desire if you were just a friend? He’d say, “Suzy, I have to call it a night. I have an assignment due in the morning.” In that case, Bob does not want any sexual gratification from you. But usually, if we don’t get “dessert,” we think, “Why did i just spend four hours at dinner, when I have an assignment for work due in the morning?” Women compound the problem by playing into our little trap. There are no free lunches. Everybody wants something, including you. A man knows you want to eat and drink, and just like a genie in the bottle, he will grant your wish to get what he wants: “Eat and drink good, you shall!” He’s thinking, “Yes, she is falling right

Why The Concept Of “FREE” Does Not Exist In A Successful Relationship (Continue)

into my dinner plans,” and you, meanwhile, are thinking, “Another free meal!” You have a plan to eat, and he has a plan to get you into bed, maybe not today, but certainly tomorrow. Again, there are no free lunches. Now, the whole point of this is to even out the playing field and help you gain our respect as a human being, instead of as a whore. Why? Because women who are considered productive human beings are sought after and go on to become wives. To end any thought the MOYD might have of you being the next girl on his booty-call list, throw a curveball and see if he can hit it. As a general rule, never go on a date without some type of equal exchange of energy. It could be a simple as baking cookies, meaning, if he is willing to pay for dinner, you should be willing to pay for dessert or sacrifice yourself. If he has a high-paying job and you are making minimum wage, it is right for him to treat, but it is also right for you to leave the tip. Otherwise, in his mind your lacking class, consideration, and your indirectly being purchased for a $50 meal, . Don’t worry, we are not judging you. Almost every woman has her price. “Girl, Bob is making seven figures and he is starting to look real cute.” Dinner is just one example. It could be a pair of shoes, your rent, cell phone bill, car payment, clothing, or whatever the man thinks you need or want that will make you happy and willing. Gifts are little invisible contracts that oblige you through your subconscious. Always remember that every man wants something, even if it is a simple as a “thank you” with some sugar on top. The more you receive without giving, the more it will eventually work against you. You cannot expect to continue to receive without getting caught on the back end. Why? Because that’s what 99 percent of men intend from the very beginning. It is how most healthy heterosexual males think. Our goal is to give you what we think you want so we can ultimately have sex with you. Now, if you ask Bob the same question as above and he honestly says sex is a non-issue because he has been celibate for four years, then you may have found a man that is purely interested in your intellect. Weird! But I don’t know how sexy that would be. The concept of “free” does not exist in a successful, balanced relationship, and something will suffer: you, him, or all of the above. Have ever noticed how many beautiful women in Hollywood, including stars, date men with money? Yes, these ladies live a posh life for a time, getting their hair and nails done, their rent or car paid for, etc., but as they get older, they are either replaced by the next hot model or, if still in the relationship, are suffering mentally by being with a man who does not love them for anything but their image. It’s the nature of the beast. Even these women who were once the pick of the litter realize the game eventually gets old. Gaining respect and separating yourself from the myriad of other beautiful women is as simple as being unselfish and thinking of the MOYD as you would think of yourself. If you do not want it done to you, than always be considerate and don’t do it to him. Be the example you desire, always. If you do not want to be treated like a whore, then don’t act like one. With this thought in mind, not only will you separate yourself from the competition, you will have made yourself ready to receive that lucky MOYD.

9 Reasons You Should Have Sex Everyday The TImes Of India If you thought that the only benefit of sex was, well, pleasure, here’s some news for you. Making love is good for adults. And making love regularly is even better. Not only does it help you sleep well, relieve stress and burn calories, there are also several other reasons why you need to have sex more often. Improves cardiovascular health A recent study says that men who have sex more than twice a week, have a lesser risk of getting a heart attack, than men who had sex less than once a month. Increases immunity Regular lovemaking increases the level of the immune-boosting antibody immunoglobulin A (IgA), which in turn makes your body stronger against illnesses like the common cold and fever. Reduces stress Stressed out with work or family problems? Don’t let it affect your performance in the bedroom. Not only will having sex improve your mood, but a study has also proven that folks, who indulge in regular bedroom activities can handle stress better and are happier people. Relieves pain If you’re using a headache as an excuse to not make love, stop doing that. Have sex instead, because, when you’re about to have an orgasm, the level of the hormone oxytocin increases by five times. This endorphin actually reduces aches and pains. Promotes longevity When one has an orgasm, a hormone called dehydroepiandrosterone is released. This improves immunity, repairs tissue and keeps the skin healthy. Men, who have at least two orgasms a week, live longer than men who have sex just once every few weeks. Increases blood circulation Because your heart rate increases when you have sex, fresh blood is supplied to your organs and cells. While used blood is removed, the body also expels toxins and other materials that cause you to feel tired. You sleep better The sleep that you get just after you’ve made love will be much more relaxed. Getting a good night’s sleep will make you feel alert and overall healthy. Improves overall fitness If you find going to the gym mundane or working out at home a task, here’s another way to help you lose the flab and keep in shape. Regular sex will do wonders for your waistline. Half an hour of lovemaking burns more than 80 calories. Increases levels of Oestrogen and testosterone In men, the hormone testosterone is what makes them more passionate in the sack. Not only will it make you feel way better in bed, but it also improves your muscles and bones, keeps your heart healthy and keeps a check on your cholesterol. In women, on the other hand, the hormone oestrogen protects them again

10 Ways to Start Loving Life By Aja Trinidad There are so many people that complain about the fact that they hate their lives and that they cannot find happiness with what they have. If this sounds familiar to you, and you’re one of those people who thinks that you can only be happy if you’re wealthy, have tons of friends, fame, and a perfect family, you’re sadly mistaken. The next time you say, “I hate my life,” I want you to ask yourself this: Would you rather be dead? It may sound harsh, but just think about it. As long as you’re alive, you can be happy, and there’s always a chance to improve your life situation. Here are 10 ways how! 1. Start focusing on the positive things about your life. If you can’t think of anything, you’re still holding on to negativity. Let it go. What are the things about your life that you really love? 2. Stop complaining. Even if you don’t love life, you don’t have to say it all the time. The more you say that you don’t love your life, the more you’ll enforce those negative feelings. 3. Don’t compare your life with someone else’s. Your life can never be an exact replica of someone else’s. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense to spend so much time stressing about what someone else has. If anything, you can take the happiness of someone else as inspiration to achieve your own successes, but not to feel bad about what you don’t have. 4. Do more of the things that you love. Do you often complain and say that if only you had the time, you’d do more things that make you happy? Well, that’s not true. You do have the time! You don’t have to do very time-consuming things. Maybe you love crossword puzzles, or playing with your pets, or maybe taking a walk. Try to do at least one thing that makes you happy every day. 5. Recognize that life is always changing. If you feel down because you don’t have the perfect job, or are not as financially free as you would like to be, you need to recognize that your current situation is just that, your current situation. Things do change. 6. Surround yourself with good people.

28

www.thicknsassy.com

Pay attention to the company you keep. Are you always around complainers and Negative Nellies? If so, you need to realize that their energy can have a very negative affect on your own happiness. 7. Start helping others. The more you start focusing on helping other people, the less time you will have to complain about your own life. Not only that, but helping people makes you feel really good! 8. Watch less TV. It’s the job of advertisers to tell you that your life Photograph By Essence Magazine is not good enough and that to improve it, you need to buy the latest clothes, gadgets, and vehicles. Don’t subject yourself to these lies. 9. Start appreciating the small things. Have you ever taken a close look at nature? The sky, animals, plants, rivers. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Start seeking out and learning to appreciate life itself. 10. Remember that you shouldn’t let life pass you by. If you need more incentive to start loving life right away, here’s something for you. The more time you spend being miserable and not appreciating things, the more life is passing you by. You don’t want to look at your life years from now, and be unhappy that you spent your time complaining and being negative. Do it now, while you have the chance. Be positive, happy, and love life! How Curve-Tastic Women Can Embrace Their Style

By Wendy Mak with Ezyne Women’s shapes are changing. There is no denying that in the Western World, the average sizes of women are bigger now then they were 40 years ago. But being a bigger size does not mean that you have to dress down or look frumpy. There are celebrity plus size models and rock stars that ooze glamour and sex apeal. Here are a few tips that can help you dress just right too When we have curves or are self-conscious about a specific area, we usually tend to cover it up by wearing something quite loose. So we couple a loose top with a loose skirt. But rather than hiding the turkey rolls, we actually end up looking quite like a ham instead! Combining Outfits To Flatter Your Curves So the secret is this: wear a fitted item at the top OR bottom to flatter your curves and create some shape. In essence: if an item is fitted at the top then keep it looser at the bottom, and vice versa. You might have a top and skirt that are both individually terrific, but worn together they just don’t work. If you wear a loose blouse with a loose skirt, you will lack shape. Instead you need to choose a more fitted but not overly tight top with a looser skirt. Now you can instantly see your great curves, and yet nothing you wouldn’t want to show is visible. On the other hand, if you chose a loose blouse or top, you would want to make sure you had a more fitted skirt at the bottom or perhaps a pair of straight legged jeans. Choosing Flattering Skirts Another hurdle for many curvy women is to choose the right type of skirt that camouflages the main problem spots. These are usually hips, bum and thighs. One of the most common mistakes is the notion that an A-line style skirt will help to cover hips and thighs. But be craeful, this is only true to a degree. Not all skirts are the same! For example a bad skirt would be stiff and pouff out in to a wide, distinct A-line. It gets worse if the fabric doesn’t drop from the hips, or it has pleats that don’t sit well on your shape. 33

www.thicknsassy.com

In contrast, a good A-line skirt would be made of a soft, floaty fabric that feels “weighty” but is not stiff. It would not be very wide and would not have gathers or any excess fabric. It should drop flatteringly from the hip So whether you dress up for a special occasion like a date or a night out, or if you simply dress for the office or a casual day with the family, consider these tips and stay looking curve-tastic! Sydney Stylist Wendy Mak has made it her mission to help women embrace who they are. Her personal styling company Smitten With Style sports the tagline “Stylists for Real People” Most recently the personal stylist published her latest book “The Terrific Thirty: 30 Items, 1000 Outfits” which shows how a complete wardrobe can be created from a mere 30 items.
