7:30 pm After a 3 day “work” bender at Surf Expo its right off the plane and on the road north.

9:57 pm We make it to Colin’s and in true backwoods fashion we’re greeted with a little white lightning.

6:51

Its obvious we’re on the tail end of the swell. The wind went offshore too early the night before but a few sets roll through and provide a little hope.

This is Todd’s last chance to surf before heading back to Africa to work on a rig for 6 weeks so he wastes no time and is the first in the water.

The boys aren’t far

behind though.

7:42 Colin slips into the wave of the morning and the only decent ride of the swell.

8:16

Its slow going so Raven Trades his board for the housing.......

........and scores.

A couple of (lie)nups that beautiful none the less.

proved to be better for mindsurfing but

9:24 Thats a wrap. Not even 10am and we’re done but thats part of the game. It’s almost always a gamble and if you don’t go then you don’t know. It’s all about the chase and for us, it’s always worth it. Colin has a scrapple breakfast waiting for him and we hit the road.

12:04

We stop by Chad’s shed on the shore so Raven can grab a board he stashed there and check on current waterfowl populations. Ponds are loaded up, We’ll be coming back soon for sure. 2 hours later, it’s home sweet home.
