By Marcus Fenner On Friday, February 1, 2013 at approximately 11:45pm, Childress Memorial Church of God in Christ in San Antonio, TX, under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Edward Iglehart, suffered immense loss when their church home of nearly 50 years was destroyed by fire. With over 600 members displaced from the edifice that was, for many, the only church home ever known, Childress Memorial proceeded with Sunday service directly after the fire, at a San Antonio convention center, with a resolve to immediately move forward and a strong will to worship.
