The Longview Bridal Faire was a busy one. More than 1,000 attendees gathered from all across East Texas to check out the latest trends for the upcoming wedding season. As they made their way into Maude Cobb Activity Center, attendees entered through a beautifully decorated corridor designed by top sponsors Lynne Akin, of Iron Inspired and Andrea Gatlin, of Ann’s Petals. The romantic look of the walkway mirrored what brides are looking for this season – a vintage feel to their big day. Guests were greeted with flowers galore and soft music by a string ensemble. As many brides-to-be perused vendor booths, some even booked services that very day! Guests also took time to stop by The Wedded Bliss booth where they snapped photos against a logo screened background. When they weren’t snapping photos or booking services, guests gathered around the runway for a trendy fashion show where models donned the fine fabrics from Weddings A to Z. Ann’s Petals created a beautiful tall wooden archway with pops of brightly colored floral arrangements for our fashion show runway. The models did a fabulous job having fun and showing off the gorgeous dresses! Party rental supplier A-1 Party and Tent Rentals did an excellent job preparing the event with pipe and draping, table linens and accessories that vendors used to make their booths stand out. Thank you to Brenda Harden, owner of Weddings A to Z, for providing the grand prizes of two honeymoon giveaways and to A-1 Party and Tent Rental for giving away a top prize of a $1,000 discount on rentals!

The Wedded Bliss was excited to host its annual Bridal Faire at the beautiful Cascades Country Club. The first attraction to catch guests eyes as they drove up to the Cascades was a limousine and horse-drawn carriage. As they entered the country club, they were serenaded by a string band and a mock bridal ceremony in the grand dining area that overlooked the gorgeous Cascades grounds. The doors opened promptly at noon. Brides-to-be were welcomed with brightly colored name tags and a handy tote bag. Smiles and laughter were seen and heard throughout the day. Vendors came from all over East Texas to participate in the bridal faire. They did an amazing job decorating and getting ready to provide their services to newly engaged young ladies. Thank you to our event emcee, Anissa Centers of KLTV fame, for presenting and entertaining our attendees. Dress Me Bridal owners Jill and John Smith did an excellent job premiering the latest fashions. Models took the runway in style with beautiful bridal dresses ranging from breathtaking princess gowns to elegant mermaid dresses. Each model carried a bouquet provided by La Tee Da Flowers of Tyler. Hair and make-up artists Bojack Allen, Amber Frizzell, Rachel Marchese and Von Criswell of All Doll’d Up lent their expertise to help make each model look stunning! One young lady even walked away with a free wedding dress provided by Dress Me Bridal. Weddings A to Z owner Brenda Harden donated grand prizes of not only two, but three honeymoons. Kevin Huckabee, All American Party and Tent Rental owner, did an amazing job preparing the event for vendors and brides-to-be. He transformed the runway and stage into bridal perfection, with an elegant chandelier hanging above the stage and white tulle draped all along the catwalk. This year was truly a success for vendors and brides-to-be. We look forward to another wonderful event next year!

Both were used to create this soft, romantic look for Bracie. He loves the definition of a pin curl and adding height to the crown with Velcro rollers really created the classic look.

THE MAKEUP Von gave Bracie a touch of old Hollywood glamor for this modern classic. Matte is the motto for this fresh look. Bracie’s soft eye contour features a wellblended fawn colored shadow in the crease with a soft vanilla as her highlighter. To keep maximum control, Von used a creme liner paired with a fine angle brush to create this precise winged eyeliner. Instead of a traditional red Hollywood glam lip, Von lined Bracie's lips using a cool coral lip liner. She filled the entire lip area with liner to give Bracie a matte kiss.
*VONS VICE Moisten your pout with your favorite lip balm before your make up application. Before you apply the lip liner, blot off any access and keep the lid on the gloss! Liner is the only tool you need for this matte mouth.

Put a small amount in your hand, rub your hands together and smooth the curls down. Finish by spraying Moroccanoil Hairspray, and your curls will turn out perfect.

THE HAIR For this classic braided up-do with a “twist,” Tony masterfully reverse braided the hair, pulling it towards the back and twisting it into a flower. Bracie’s bangs were then pinnedcurled and held into place using hairspray and a bobby pin.

A SPRING-TIME FAVORITE THAT IS EASY AND DELICIOUS

Spring is one of my favorite times of year. The days become longer, warmer and brighter, and the trees begin to sprout their beauty once again. We put away those heavy recipes of

winter as we start to enjoy the fresh foods of spring. Nothing screams springtime more than fresh flowers, veggies and… salmon, right? In our part of the country, it seems that salmon has risen to the top in the hierarchy of the fish world. The snobby neighbor, if you will. Whether this title is deserved or not, please don’t be intimidated by salmon. Some people would beg, borrow or steal for it. I have personally never been a huge fan, because it is so rich….UNTIL our family came across this recipe. Time and age have a way of refining your taste buds. Growing up, I didn’t have a clue that salmon came any other way than in a can (salmon patties rock!). Fresh or frozen salmon fillets were unheard of outside of a large city. I am very thankful that there are now so many food products readily available at the simplest of small town supermarkets. You can’t even imagine how far things have come in 20 years. I hope you are taking full advantage of this by cooking new and exciting things. The first time we tackled this stuffed salmon, we were missing a very key ingredient – the ricotta. So we took a deep breath and then substituted it with half cream cheese/half sour cream and it was just as amazing. Feel free to do so here if you’d like. Remember, make it your own and don’t be scared.
WHAT TO DO:
