Do you know a Monet from a Picasso? What’s more valuable, a Hurst or a Warhol? Test your art appreciation and bidding skills on many works of art without risking ANY of your own money! This is a fun team event where you will attempt to outwit others in the room and ensure your ‘investments’ are worth more than you ‘paid’ for them. You will be given £25,000* to ‘spend’ on your chosen paintings so don’t bid too early or you may lose out! We will be playing in teams of 8, but if you can’t find a whole team, we will group you with others. The emphasis of the evening is on fun not forgery! Roger Sansom from Mulberry Gallery will provide the works of art and will be auctioneer on the night. *No real money will change hands! Monday 1 April Supper Club

Welford Park, a Grade I Queen Anne House is nestled in 3,000 acres of beautiful Berkshire countryside and is home to the Puxley family. Join Deborah Puxley for a fascinating insight into Welford’s history dating back to 1618. Discover how the House has adapted to modern day living by using its grounds for glossy magazine photo shoots and as a location for TV and film. From Hollywood to Welford, hear how a popular baking programme has also made its home here. Big tents, cakes, competition and behind the scenes intrigue!

In her early twenties, British Javelin thrower Jen Grimstone-Jones was forced to retire due to a serious ankle injury. This led to her making a life-changing decision to start all over again with a career in cheese. Jen is now co-owner of the award winning independent Pangbourne cheese shop, Cheese Etc. Passionate about serving great cheese with the perfect accompaniments, Jen is a specialist cheese adviser, winning ‘Cheese Counter of the Year’ at the World Cheese Awards in 2017. Join us for a delicious supper followed by a fascinating talk delivered by Jen, who will share some of her expert knowledge and the secrets to savoury success. This independent and well regarded architect of fine chocolate treats will be coming to The Watermill to share her passion. Join Watermill Artistic Director Paul Hart as he discusses his approach to creating bold and daring new versions of Shakespeare’s classic texts with The Watermill Ensemble, the theatre’s resident company. Paul will be joined by Billy Postlethwaite, the actor who will take on the title role in this Spring’s electrifying new production of Macbeth. Tuesday 16 April Director’s Talk

AMéLIE: Michael Fentiman Price: £20 (includes lunch)

Michael Fentiman will speak about directing the UK premiere of Amélie and provide an insight into his approach to bringing this muchloved Oscar nominated film and Broadway musical to the UK for the very first time. Michael’s previous credits include Loot at The Watermill, Titus Andronicus at The RSC and The Importance of Being Earnest at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Lunch and Social Bridge

All bridge players are warmly welcomed to enjoy an afternoon of lunch, bridge, tea and cake at The Watermill. Chicago Bridge Format will be played and tables will be provided but please bring your own bridge cloth and playing cards. Prizes will be awarded and a raffle will also take place in the afternoon. A RAILWAY THEMED WALK AND TALK

Price: £18 (includes coffee/tea) Meet @ 10.30am | Walk @ 10.45am | Duration: 2 hours |

Enjoy a morning ramble from Lambourn to Great Shefford along the Lambourn Valley Way, a section of which is on the former railway trackbed. Led by Graham Lambert from the Railway Ramblers, this 5 mile walk will include a brief visit to the former station and goods yard sites. Meet in the free High Street car park in Lambourn at 10.30am for a prompt 10.45am start. Return to Lambourn is by public transport so bring your bus pass or sufficient funds for your return journey. Lunch is available at The George, Lambourn (please book directly, 01488 73777).

Summer Fair

Entry: Adults £1, 12 years and under free Time: 12 noon to 4pm (no pre-booking required) Come and enjoy our annual Summer Fair in the beautiful gardens at The Watermill Theatre. There will be live music, circus skills, storytelling, a Punch and Judy show, a variety of stalls and games, delicious food, a Pimm’s bar, raffle and a chance to back a winner in the duck race! Celebrate Christmas with this interactive ‘Allo ‘Allo Comedy Dinner Show. Eat in an ‘umble’ restaurant for a night to remember as René juggles the Gestapo, the Resistance, his secret affairs and his wife, Edith. Oh, and keeping a watchful eye over events is a British agent disguised as a policeman who hasn’t quite grasped the French language! A three course supper will be served by the cast during the performance. Book early to avoid disappointment.
