introduction


Hello! I am Vaishnavi Karnam, a 21-year old Communication Design graduate from Indian Institute of Art and Design, New Delhi in affiliation with Kingston School of Art, London. I have got an eye for good design with ample knowledge in Graphic Design, Branding, Advertising and Content Writing. I like trying out, exploring new things and passionate about learning. Being an adventurous soul, sitting idle even for a minute is a Herculean task! But I think I am trying to master sitting idle as well. I am very observant about my surrounding and nothing goes by unnoticed.

integrated campaign Part of my Graduation Project in College, this project focuses on the rebranding of The Goat Village (farmstays and homestays across Uttarakhand, practising responsible tourism). The brief was to design an integrated campaign for the brand. This is a personal project which was done in collaboration with Green People India (parent organisation).

Part of a typography brief in college, this project focuses on understanding and experimenting with the principles of typography, which are Visual Anchor, Figure and Ground, Symmetry and Asymmetry, Active and Passive, Grids and Margins and Hierarchy.

As a Creative and Design Intern at ullushop, a luxury brand that offers exquisitely handcrafted premium leather accessories for apple products. The brief assigned was to layout and design graphics for upcoming promotional offers and new products being launched for the brand’s social media and e-mailers for subscribers.


A college brief that focused on branding and designing a campaign around a hypothetical travel brand, WanderMyst. WanderMyst, was designed for an audience who desire to travel. It planned trips for you based on your preferences and interests. The catch being that the destination would be kept a surprise.

As a Graphic Design Intern at Times Network Digital, the briefs sometimes required me to design banner ads for Times Now’s website (timesnownews.com) for promotions of web series and exlusive stories. For each set, the ads were designed and modified in 8 different dimensions for website and mobile.

magazine & editorial As a co-editor for ‘The Custom Era’, a magazine published as a part of a college brief to understand the process of how the editorial and magazine industry works. The Custom Era was a magazine that talked about custom culture and the lastest trends in the field.

Since the time immemorial, elephants have been playing a very significant role in the Indian ethos. Especially in the Hindu culture, we have conferred enduring fame upon the elephants in the image of Lord Ganesha in the upkeep manual of Chanakya. To the present times, the resplendent elephant has been a key part of India’s collective conscience.

In India, when it comes to celebrations and festivals; every aspect of it is somewhere or the other related to the ritual art forms and the cultural traditions. Growing up in India, I have unleashed my creativity at least once a year either on Diwali, or any other festival with an elaborate Rangoli design with flower petals, rice grains, powdered colour or diyas.

Started after finding a profound interest in writing after a one-time assignment at one of my internships. Being an avid traveller, I wanted to share my experiences, travel adventures. I sometimes write about food and lessons life has taught as well.

short film A filmmaking brief in college, this movie was shot and edited with a team of five people over a period of 2 weeks. The film, ‘move’ emphasises on the effects of Social Media on an individual. It talks about how social media can portray and classify ‘the perfect image’ infront of an audience bringing about a change in an individual’s personality.

Part of the academic curriculum in college, this was an animation brief. Starting from conceptualisation, storyboarding and execution, the movie was made over a period of four weeks. The animation was executed on Adobe Animate. This is the poster of the animated movie.

production assistant Assisted for a video shoot for TN+, a youtube channel by Times Network during internship. The second episode of Queeristan follows Harish Iyer, a LGBTQ human rights activist who talks about what it was like to be queer back in the 80s and 90s.
