Day 1: Ocean City, Maryland (T, D) Discover the beauty and relaxed pace of the Chesapeake Bay and Ocean City to experience the sun, surf & history of this wonderful area. Check into the Dunes Manor Hotel, built in the grand style of Ocean City’s Victorian era. See how close you are to the beach as soon as you enter the lobby. During your stay, enjoy afternoon tea on the large Verandah overlooking the ocean. Once in your room, you’ll welcome the oceanfront view from your private balcony. When you’re ready for excitement, the famous Ocean City Boardwalk is only one block away...and the rest of Ocean City awaits you. Dine at your leisure inside the Victorian Dining Room.

Day 2: Crisfield, Maryland (B, L, T) Today we begin in the Crab Capital of the World, Crisfield. You’ll visit the J. Millard Tawes Museum for a narrated tour. The museum traces the history of the Lower Shore and Chesapeake Bay and the influence of Native Americans on the early colonists. Meet your local guide for a driving tour and learn how Crisfield become the top exporter of this tasty Maryland crustacean. For lunch, you’re in for a treat! The chef of The Crab Place will teach you a special recipe for making a Maryland Crab Cake. Watch the chef demonstrate how to properly steam fresh Maryland Blue Crabs! Next, you’ll View the iconic Assateague learn how to make Maryland’s Official Island Lighthouse State Dessert, the Smith Island Cake.

A local resident will demonstrate the steps in putting together this 10-layer cake. After your taste buds have been sufficiently whetted, you’ll dine on crab cakes and the Smith Island cake (nonseafood option available). You’ll have time to browse the local shops before we head back to Ocean City for afternoon tea at your hotel. Tonight, dine at your leisure inside the Victorian Dining Room. Day 3: Assateague and Chincoteague Islands (B, T, D) Meet your local guide for a sightseeing tour of Ocean City, Chincoteague Island, Assateague Island National Seashore and historic Berlin. You’ll discover why the sun and surf of Ocean City has been attracting visitors since Algonquian tribes first came to the beaches to fish. Heading to nearby Assateague Island National Seashore and Chincoteague Island, you’ll discover a place recreated each day by ocean wind and waves. Explore sandy beaches, salt marshes, maritime forests and coastal bays. Rest, relax and enjoy your time on the edge of the continent. Of course, our exploration of these barrier islands includes searching for wild ponies and some 320 species of migratory birds as we journey into secluded wildlife refuge areas. Assateague’s wild horses are well known, even to many people who have never been to this remote, windswept barrier island. We’ll hear the local lore about how these horses got on the island and how they continue to thrive.
