THE GOLF COURSES MONTGOMERIE LINKS This links style course was designed by Colin Montgomerie and is situated in a beachscape of sandy dunes and wispy Casuarinas. It has been designed to capitalize on its close proximity to the warm, tranquil East Sea and famed Marble Mountains, which are clearly visible from various points on the 18-hole course. The sandy soil, wind-blown dunes, and indigenous vegetation combine to create the framework for a very strong links-style golf course that is a sheer delight to play. Montgomerie Links

PHOKEETHRA GOLF CLUB

The Sofitel-managed Phokeethra Country Club, Angkor Wat, adds to the world class golf now available in Cambodia. The golf course hosted the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic and 2010 Cambodian Open. The course reflects much of the Cambodian culture and history. For example between the 9th green and 10th tee is a restored 'Roluh' bridge, which is also the iconic image used in the course's logo, dating back to the 11th century Khmer empire. A challenging championship caliber layout features water on all but one hole and concludes with the signature double water carry 18th-hole that offers a daunting final shot into a challenging island green

ANGKOR GOLF RESORT

SIGHTSEEING HUE

A boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River visits Hue’s best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda. Return to dry land to visit the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. After access the Ngo Mon Gate, you will take in the Purple Forbidden City. The Forbidden City was reserved for the Nguyen royal family from the 18th century until the mid-1900s. Unfortunately, American bombing in 1968 in response to a communist takeover of Hue flattened most of the city. As you can see, only a few buildings are survived such as the Thai Hoa Temple, Can Thanh Temple, The Mieu, and Hieu Lam Cac, but all the remains make a well worth visit.

HOI AN

Hoi An, is an old port town from the 10th century. Parts of the town retains the old world feel from centuries past with narrow streets and a quaint mix of architecture including pagodas, temples, ancient tiled bridges and wells. In addition to the many monuments, the town has a wide array of delightful shops and roadside cafes. In the evening the town is transformed as all the lanterns are lit and numerous restaurants open.

SIGHTSEEING

Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia.
