2. 1. On September 11, 2016, a photo essay titled “Inside Santa Monica High” was published as the cover story of the Education Issue of The New York Times Magazine. The Samohi’s Managing Editor Nico Young (’17) was assigned by The Magazine to capture the “timeless rituals of high school” over the course of five months, starting at the end of the spring 2016 semester. Presented here are a selection of photographs that didn’t make it to the final publication. 1.
