103. Gorgeous and Rare French Bisque Brown-Eyed Bébé E.J.A. by Emile Jumeau 26” (66 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head, elongated face with very plump lower cheeks and chin, brown glass enamel inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the pale outlined lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eightloose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, wearing lovely antique gown with lace and silk trim, undergarments, stockings, kidskin shoes, extravagant silk ruffled bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, one small wig pull high at crown rim, retouch to hands and joints. Marks: E.J.A 10 (head) Jumeau Medaille d’Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his first signature bébé, the model was made for one or two years only, circa 1880.
