Simply the Best The quest to be the best drives businesses to go the extra distance in offering products and services beyond customers’ expectations. The Record’s Best of San Joaquin recognizes businesses that were voted by our readers as THE BEST in their respective categories. Also listed in the categories are businesses that are considered, by you, to be “ONE OF THE BEST.” While strictly speaking, there can only be one “best” in each category, those who are “one of the best” have much to be proud of as well. In many cases, there were few votes in between first, second and third. All businesses who received votes in The Best of San Joaquin should take pride that their customers took the time and effort to register online and place their votes in the poll. That takes loyal customers who appreciate the daily effort these businesses make to serve them. The poll was divided into 14 categories: Automotive, Home, Health & Beauty, Out & About, Activities, Fitness & Sports, Apparel, Savor, Finances, For Your Family, Spirits, Pets, Senior Services, Special Events, Weddings & Formal, and Best of the Best.

There are subcategories under each category. At the top of each subcategory is the business that garnered the most votes. Listed below in order of votes received are the next one or two businesses that also received significant votes in the subcategory. The business that received the most votes overall for each category is named the category winner. We thank all of the readers who took the time to support their favorite businesses by registering online and voting. Five registrants were drawn at random and they will receive a $100 dining gift certificate. They are: Michael Pinstrom of Lodi, Donna Lee Getty of Manteca, Betsy Proun of Stockton, Davis Beaman of Stockton, and Tony Alcerna of Tracy. This non-scientific poll was conducted among recordnet.com readers. The ballot was available online at www.recordnet.com from June 20 through July 19, 2011. Voters were required to register with recordnet.com before voting. Only one ballot per registrant was counted.
