Pass/Fail Option for Seniors
In order to encourage risk-taking, nurture student curiosity, shift student focus from grades to learning, and support student wellness, Lovett instituted a Pass/Fail option in the 2018-19 school year. Seniors who are enrolled in at least five academic classes may request to receive a Pass or Fail grade rather than a numerical grade for one course. If approved, the grade reported on the report card and transcript will be a P (70 or higher) or F (below 70). (This option is open only to seniors and only in the fall semester.)

Modern Global History AP World History
American Studies combines a traditional American literature class and U.S. history survey into an interdisciplinary examination of the American experience. The course takes place during two class periods and is taught by two teachers, one from the history department and one from the English department. Joint assessments, including tests, projects, and exams, contribute to the interdisciplinary nature of the course.
