The sorting of the cards into rounds and the delivery’s are undertaken by Scouts, parents and leaders from the Bideford Area. Stamps are on sale now at the locations listed and the cards can be posted at the same outlets as the stamps for only 25p each as well as via the Scout Groups themselves. The groups are very grateful for all the support and help shown by Stevens and Willey Accountants in Barnstaple who have sponsored the printing of the self-adhesive stamps and Torridge District Council who have generously allowed us to use their election boxes as our Post boxes and to all the local businesses that will be hosting the boxes and selling the special stamps. The boxes will be located at outlets in the Bideford area, they are Black with Scouts Christmas post marked on the front. Starting right now! Music Dates for the diary The Appledore Singers’ Charity Christmas Concert will take place on Sunday December 13th, 2.30pm at Northam Hall (top of Fore Street) and we are delighted to announce that, this year, it will be in aid of Devon Freewheelers the charity comprising volunteer bikers, who transport blood and other items, on behalf of the NHS, to and from hospitals and surgeries all over Devon. The choir will delight the audience with arrangements of festive music - both traditional and modern - and, as always, there will be the opportunity for the audience to participate in singing favourite carols! The afternoon’s entertainment will also include a grand raffle! All proceedings will be ably and wittily co-ordinated by our Compere, Anthony Chambers, and the choir, accompanied by Chris Beechey, will be conducted by our Musical Director, Pam Beechey.
