Farm League is Kayo's network of core shops that fully backs everything that we do. Together Kayo and these select shops are farming skateboarding's future. This issue's Farm League update highlights Humidity Skate Shop in New Orleans. Started by Philly Santosuosso in 1996, Humidity is located in the historic French Quarter which is best known for its epic Mardi Gras celebration, amazing jazz music, and mouth watering Cajun cuisine. Philly and Humidity do a ton to support the local scene in New Orleans which is extremely important given the fact that the city is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Whether it's a pizza party for the crew or a scavenger hunt for product, Humidity is constantly giving back to the culture. Somewhere between the realms of the creative genius and the psychedelic madman lies the mind of BB Bastidas. BB draws his inspiration from his Oceanside, CA roots, esoteric knowledge, and outer space to create unique pieces that range from paintings, graphic art, sculptures, and he even has plans to branch out into film. Regardless of the medium, BB’s style is instantly recognizable making him a highly sought after artists to work with. After a tour of Europe, BB returned home to Southern California and met with a shaman for what can only be described as a spiritual experience. During this encounter BB had a vision and began painting what he saw soon after. As he began putting paint to canvas he had an epiphany and announced to everyone that was in the room that his latest creation is going to be for DGK. The result is our latest artist collaboration which we will be celebrating on Thursday August 29th at the Kayo flagship store on Fairfax in Los Angeles with a release party and art installation by BB.

“My history in apparel runs deep - like all the way back to the 432F trade show, the first ‘streetwear trade show’ before ASR or at least within the same time frame. Only a handful of people that are in the game today were around then. I came into all of this through a retail shop I started in the early 90’s in Virginia. I was dealing with Wu Wear, Project Dragon, Betsy Jonnson, ECHO Unlimited and their mixtapes, spray caps, mags, videos, etc. Buying for the shop allowed me to hit all the trade shows and NYC showrooms which opened many doors for me to be where I am at today. With all of my connections around the world I decided that a barbershop would be the ideal hub where I could stay connected with people as well as offer a service that at the end of the day everyone needs. Long story short, I’ve been through hell and back in the streetwear industry and know exactly what I need to do with my current brand Frank’s Chop Shop, so I make calculated moves as to who I fuck with in the game, so naturally DGK was a no brainer.”
