This downtown area was also a thriving red-light and saloon district. In fact, where The Hotel Denver now stands, four saloons, two rooming houses, a restaurant and grocery store once prospered. In 1914, Henry Bosco acquired several of the businesses along Seventh Street and created the Star Hotel, later renamed The Hotel Denver. Today, visitors continue to frequent historic Glenwood Springs.
