WKZ AMPLIFICATION BY DUDLEY ROSS

here are not many amps out there that you could plug into directly and it instantly sounds great. The WKZ is what I call a ‘meat and potatoes’ amp, simple controls, no unnecessary features, which results in a clear, high class valve tone. Martin Wisbey, the man behind WKZ amps asked me to record a demo track for the Little Devil a few years back. We had the legendary Chris Tsangarides (Thin Lizzy, Anvil, Judas Priest) producing it. Chris did a great job of capturing the real tone of the amp on the recording. I tried to show off the amp in as many styles as I could in five minutes. Over six different guitars were used on the recording, including one of Yngwie Malmsteen’s Strat, that was given to Chris by the man himself (didn’t want to give that back). good breakdown of guitar/amp combination for you to read. Since the session with Chris Tsangarides, both myself and Chris own a WKZ and they have been used on many recordings since. I play a lot of styles and need an amp that can do an authentic job and respond to my playing in a musical way and the WKZ does this. I do use other amps from time to time, but I always come back to the WKZ and this is why I have been gigging it extensively for the last three years. It’s a well built amp, solid in fact, for three years I’ve thrown it around and it comes back wanting more! I believe the WKZ can hold its own in any genre from indie to metal, this is why it’s an important part of my kit. Go try one! www.wkz-amps.com
