SPARK AT DW IG H T

Welcome to Dwight School, where we are dedicated to crafting a personalized journey for every student based on individual interests and passions. We call this “igniting the spark of genius in every child.” Our students are encouraged to believe in their own talents, follow their hearts, and take intellectual risks through the academically rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) — recognized as the “gold standard” in pre-university preparation worldwide. The IB offers a balance of traditional and progressive learning that reflects international benchmarks for excellence and fosters life-long skills.

WELCOME

The comprehensive IB curriculum includes:

SPARK TANK We don’t believe that students should have to wait until graduation to pursue their “big idea” to change the world. Starting as early as kindergarten, students can dive into Spark Tank to take their ideas — for businesses, non-profits, or products — from concept to market launch. These range from students’ signature fashion lines, to a 3D-printed prosthetic hand and a series of children’s books about endangered ocean life. Designed to nurture entrepreneurial, leadership, and innovation skills, Spark Tank matches students with faculty mentors to fine-tune their ideas. During the development cycle, students pitch their projects for feedback and funding to The Dwight School Foundation’s Spark Tank Committee, comprised of industry experts and entrepreneurs from our community. Dwight is one of the only K–12 schools in America to offer this after-school incubator experience.
