FIRST GRADE ART PROJECT– SELF PORTRAIT QUILTS

First graders worked hard to make these, their second self-portraits of the year using pastel and watercolor. The Transdisciplinary Theme was How We Express Ourselves, and students added to their prior knowledge of facial proportion by measuring each other’s faces before going on to create these beautiful and expressive paintings. The portraits have been reproduced onto three high thread count cotton panels to produce a kaleidoscope of colorful faces of each child in the three first grade classrooms that your child will instantly recognize and love! The quilt would make a delightful throw or bedspread and will be the envy of your child’s classmates! The quilt is filled with lightweight batting and backed with soft but durable cotton. The boarders are made variously made with silk or cotton. Starting Bid: $100 Value: $Priceless Min. Raise: $50 Buy Now: $3,000 Courtesy of First Grade Class

THIRD GRADE ART PROJECT – PAPER MACHE MASKS

This striking row of faces was created by the third grade during their Sharing the Planet unit. They were inquiring into the various ways we can avoid conflict if we learn to “read” others’ emotions through facial expressions. Each face represents a different emotion. They have been dramatically presented on a dark backdrop in two pieces to give greater flexibility in placing them down your hall or in rows in a favorite room. It was with great reluctance that the children parted with these masks. Now is your chance to buy them back and display them in triumph! Starting Bid: $100 Value: $Priceless Min. Raise: $50 Buy Now: $3,000 Courtesy of Third Grade Class
