BCA REACHES DECISION ON NATIONAL 9-BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS From: Amy Long - Director of Marketing & Business Development

Colorado Springs, Colo. The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) will not hold the BCA National 9-Ball Championships in 2003 as previously announced. Throughout 2002, members of the BCA Board of Directors and National Office staff conducted a feasibility study on the event. The BCA has several large tournaments to promote amateur, professional and junior billiards, including the BCA National 8-Ball Championships in Las Vegas, NV (May 9-17, 2003), the BCA Open 9Ball Championships in Las Vegas, NV (May 11-17, 2003) and the BCA Junior National Championships at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI (July 30 - August 2, 2003). BCA Executive Director Stephen Ducoff said, The BCA is very careful about how we allocate our resources and staff time. Based on our research, we feel the interests of BCA member s will be best served if we focus on our 8Ball, pro 9-Ball and junior tournaments, as well as other programs such as the BCA International Trade Expo in Las Vegas, NV (July 9-12, 2003), the Billiard Image Campaign, instructors, referees, education, leagues and players.

The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing its members with exceptional value by promoting and growing cue sports worldwide. The BCA supports its membership with educational programs, trade expos, tournaments and other programs designed to make pool everybody s game. 3-C Seniors Tour from: billiardsatlas.com

CALIFORNIANS have won another World s Senior Three-Cushion Championship. Don Schall won the 2002 tournament with a remarkable 1.480 average. Schall had a solo game of 37 points in 25 innings, which included a high run of twelve. Last year it was Allen Gilbert that captured the crown. The year before it was Sudden Sam Worley. Ex-Californian Bob Byrne won in 1999. Our 3-Cushion seniors are extraordinary - among the worlds best. The other top 2002 players were, Mark Hanson, Roger Shields, Ken Majewski & Walt Harris. Fort Lauderdale s eighteen player event at Bill Maloney s Corner Pocket, was our year s highlight. The Chicago area was also well represented, thanks to Frank Bondzinski. We were fortunate to have a total of 92 entries this year. The 2002 Tour concludes with special thanks to Ken Majewski who updates our web page <www.billliardsatlas.com/stour> We ll be celebrating our 5th year as the world s only Senior 3-Cushion Tournament. As usual, we ask for your support for the 2003 season and hope many more will catch the senior tour spirit OTB Our crew extends a very happy new year to all.
