Bishop’s Visual Arts Department Chair Elizabeth Wepsic created an Irving Gill inspired 16” x 20” oil on canvas. The painting, titled “Gilman #1,” is a depiction of an interior space in Gilman Hall.

“My work explores the geometric shapes created within architectural spaces. I generate colors by staining and layering thin coats of transparent paint. There are subtle marks and manipulation of the material to create a confusing imperfection of scars and scratches. Enjoy an afternoon of creative, crocheting fun! Bishop’s math teacher Kara Crawford will take a group of 5-8 adults or students to visit a local yarn store, collect supplies and then gather for lunch and learn to crochet. You will learn the classic granny square pattern that has resurfaced in recent fashion trends. All participants will receive crocheted party favors and additional crochet supplies will be provided.

Beginners to advanced levels are welcome!

Portraits with a unique perspective! Semi-professional underwater photographer, Michael Samale (middle school science teacher), will work with up to four (4) subjects to create dynamic underwater photos. Shooting underwater allows for endless posing options, beautifully reflected light and color, and unique movement and flow of fabric and hair with an appearance of weightlessness. This photo session is ideal for anyone comfortable in the water who wants a unique portrait. Michael will supply all images, including five (5) edited images (RAW format) that will be ready to print. Ready to improve your soccer skills? Take this opportunity for a two-hour private lesson with Coach Morrison! Scott Morrison is the current Bishop’s girls’ varsity soccer coach and a U.S. Soccer Federation licensed coach. The winner and seven friends will join Bishop’s alum and Notre Dame quarterback Tyler Buchner ’21 for a two-hour football skills clinic. The clinic will focus on passing, catching and other non-contact drills. Coach Kohl Simonds ’12 will also be in attendance to join in on the fun!
