Home Health Agencies

Home health agencies are licensed by a state to provide care to a patient in the patient’s residence. Care must be prescribed by the patient’s attending physician as part of a written plan of care. The patient must be generally homebound. They are certified to provide care services that may be reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. Home health care services provided by a licensed and certified home health agency on an intermittent basis may include: skilled nursing; home health aide services; physical therapy; occupational therapy; speech therapy; social worker services, personal hygiene care, and light housekeeping.
