Young Creatives Welcome to Theatre Hullabaloo’s Young Creatives; a fantastic way to get involved with what we do, learn more, see some great theatre and generally have fun! We look forward to meeting you at the Theatre Hullabaloo offices on Tuesday 30 October for a fun Getting to know you session with drama games, human bingo and a chance to get advice and tips on reviewing theatre from a top local journalist. Each November, Theatre Hullabaloo hosts the TakeOff Festival, making Durham THE place to see the best theatre, for young audiences. This year for TakeOff 2012, Young Creatives will experience world-class theatre in the leading festival for young people’s work in the UK, write reviews which will be posted on our Young Creatives Blog and meet other young people from across the region that are passionate about the arts. We will meet for a chat and a bite to eat before heading off to see two of the world-class shows that TakeOff 2012 has to offer for older young people. Get your notepads at the ready as you have the chance to soak up the festival atmosphere alongside directors, producers, performers and artists from across the globe. You will be able to tweet your thoughts to an interactive map during the evening and meet up with members of Press Gang, the young people who are reviewing performances and events for Juice Festival, based in Newcastle/Gateshead who will be joining us for the evening. Following TakeOff Festival, your reviews will be published on the Young Creatives Blog and some will feature in print for the local press. To complete the project, we will meet once more at the Theatre Hullabaloo Offices to feedback on your experience and look at future opportunities. A chance to chat about the performances you have seen, your reviews, the blog and your overall festival experience. We will also talk about Arts Award and the opportunity to complete your experience with a nationally recognised qualification. Arts Award recognises young people as artists and leaders and evidences what you have learned on your arts journey. www.artsaward.org.uk The timetable of events is on the following page, please make sure that you can make all of the project sessions in Darlington and at TakeOff Festival in Durham. If you have any questions, we’d love to hear from you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Most of all –we look forward to working with you!
