art galleries and antique stores, a book store, the Cherohala Skyway Visitors Center and the Charles Hall Museum. And as the gateway to the Cherokee National Forest and the Skyway, there are miles of trails to explore, cool mountain streams to wade and fish in and picturesque waterfalls.

Coker Creek , an unincorporated community in the southern corner of the county, is home to several art galleries and Buck Bald, which offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains. Each October, Coker Creek hosts the Autumn Gold Festival. The Tennessee Overhill Heritage Association (TOHA) promotes tourism in Monroe, McMinn and Polk Counties. TOHA just published 20,000 maps that highlight 39 tourist attractions in McMinn, Monroe and Polk counties. The maps will be distributed at visitor centers, at-

tractions and tourism businesses across the Overhill region. They will also be included in thousands of Tennessee Overhill information packets that are mailed all over the U.S., as well as several foreign countries. The maps are published in pads of 100 maps per pad to make it easy for display in visitor centers or businesses. Single maps can be easily torn off for people to take along. TOHA encourages visitor centers, tourist attractions, and tourist businesses to contact the TOHA office at 423-263-7232 or ndalton@tennesseeoverhill.com to request the maps. •
