Miami Katie Meier Katie Meier enters her sixth season at Miami, having compiled a 72-84 overall record ... Last season, Meier led Miami to a 22-14 overall mark and an appearance in the WNIT Championship game, the furthest postseason run in program history… Prior to leading the Hurricanes, Meier spent the previous four seasons as the head coach of the Charlotte 49ers ... Meier led Charlotte to its first-ever NCAA berth in 2003 and took the 49ers to the postseason in each of her last three years ... Under Meier, Charlotte earned an at-large NCAA bid in 2003 and followed that up with consecutive appearances in the WNIT in 2004 and 2005 ... In her first season at Charlotte, Meier directed the 49ers to a 16-13 record, giving the program its first winning season in eight years ... Meier followed that up by guiding Charlotte to a 21-9 record in 2003, and with a 12-2 record in Conference USA, clinched the 49ers’ first-ever regular season CUSA championship ... Charlotte went 17-14 in 2004, and picked up its first postseason victory with a 78-71 win over Clemson in the first round of the WNIT ... Meier led the 49ers to a 22-9 record in 2005, marking the most wins for the program since 1991 ... Prior to her stint at Charlotte, Meier was the associate head coach at Tulane from 1999-2001 and was an assistant for the Green Wave for five seasons before that, helping Tulane to a 164-52 record during her seven years at the school ... Meier began her collegiate coaching career at UNC Asheville, where she was an assistant in 1994 ... As a player at Duke from 1986-1990, Meier was the ACC’s Rookie of the Year in 1986, earning Basketball Yearbook Freshman All-America honors that season ... Meier earned All-ACC first-team distinction and was named to the Kodak/WBCA District 2 All-America team as a senior in 1990 ... Meier scored 1,761 points for the Blue Devils, and was named to the ACC’s 50th Anniversary Team in 2002.
