Richard Jusseaume As yet another class of graduates leaves Walsh and moves on to another phase of their lives, I hasten to encourage all of you to “hangon” to the people you either leave behind or leave aside as you continue on your own journey. In each of our lives, there are chapters, adventures, and doors that open and close. There are friendships, relationships, and resources that you must not abandon. Your personal network of people is a priceless gift. In an age when social media often replace conversations, meetings, letters, sharing, and yes even relationships, be careful lest you abandon some of your most important assets. Walsh University can always be an important resource for you. I often meet alumni who lament having stayed away for decades—from the campus, from classmates, from faculty and staff. For four years or more they have been a significant part of your life. Do not reduce them to random texts, tweets, or the like. In the grand scheme of things, all you really have are those relationships. Use the campus as a means to carry on lifelong learning. Use all of us in job searches, in moments of joy or need, in special events that define your life. Please know that we will always welcome you, and support you in any way we can. In a world of bits and bytes, let us be part of your conversation as you work your way through the intricacies of life. God, family, friends, and alma mater—all poised to answer, respond, and support. That is the way of peace. Richard Jusseaume, President
