The inhabitants that occupied the land during the captivity of Judah weren’t very happy about it. They conspired all of them to go and fight against Jerusalem and hinder the work. But remnant saw the enemy, they began to pray both night and day, the work that lay ahead of them seem great to those that were about clearing the rubble and decay that had been sitting for over seventy years, it seemed impossible natural eyes. And with their enemy all around them they built with a tool in one hand and a sword in the other, until the temple and the wall were complete with trouble all around them. (Ne. 1:11) The doctrine that is taught today, that we will miss all the trouble and tribulation and be caught up to meet the Lord in the air when he comes back does not coincide with the prophecy that God reveals in Nehemiah. Paul tells us that tribulation and anguish shall happen to the Jews first and also to the Gentiles. (Ro. 2:9) How then are we to miss tribulation if it has to occur? Many believe that we will rule and reign with Jesus, but this doctrine leaves no room for those that suffer with Him shall also reign with Him. (2Tim.2:12) And that if we deny the Lord he will deny us. If the early church receive glory and honor, then had to go through persecution and even suffer unto death, why would God allow us down on this end of the age to miss any trouble or tribulation. The same scripture that is used to show that we are to be caught up, also says that there will be those that are alive and remain, that sounds like a remnant to me. It is not in man’s nature to want his body to be harmed or hurt in anyway, and we will do almost anything to keep from have pain. The hospitals are full and prescription drugs are used to alleviate any pain we as humans might have. It is not a sin to see a doctor or to try to fix something that is broken or hurt. But even Satan when he was allowed to take all that Job had to prove him, went back to God and said, “Skin for skin, yea all that a man hath will he give for his life.” (Job 2:4)
