There at the top of the hill in the dream, the Body of Christ had a breakthrough in the knowledge of God. Right after this breakthrough, 1 Kings 19 happens and in the dream adversaries from the enemy come to Bob and to the Body of Christ, like they did to Elijah, in an attempt to create irrational fears within us that are not connected with reality and threatening us, even with death, right after a great breakthrough! Bob saw that this can often lead us into isolation, as it did with Elijah. Elijah Isolates Himself:1 Kings 19:2-3 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "So may the gods do to me and even more, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them (the prophets of Baal who died on Mt. Carmel) by tomorrow about this time." And he (Elijah) was afraid and arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there. For Elijah, it was Jezebel's threat that thrust him into a fear spiral where suddenly he wasn't able to see hope at all. He had just come through a major victory in 1 Kings 18 that released a multigenerational blessing, but he was not able to see it. All he could see was the lie that he was alone. The truth is, there were 7,000 others like him who had not bowed the knee to Baal, a truth which God spoke to him in I Kings 19:18, but still Elijah doesn't see it. 1 Kings 19:13-14 And a voice (of God) came to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" Then he said, "I have been very zealous for the LORD, the God of hosts; for the sons of Israel have forsaken Your covenant, torn down Your altars and killed Your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left; and they seek my life, to take it away." The Prototype and New Come Together: For Bob, the adversary came with the threat of cancer while he was in Germany last year in an attempt to pound him into giving up, but God was showing Bob through this dream that he has a choice, as does the Body of Christ. We can choose to run and hide in a cave or we can choose associations of hope that build well together bringing about an acceleration of our purposes and a hope of our calling that does not stop short, but rather walks into the "riches of the glory of His inheritance" in our lives. We can choose the hopeful narrative for our lives as we choose to agree with the truth of God's hopeful perspective.
