THE 2012 SEASON - A CLOSER LOOK TECH SETS RECORD FOR WINS IN A SINGLE SEASON Texas Tech finished the 2012 season with a school record 16 wins. The Red Raiders completed the 23-game fall with a 16-6-1 record to also set a school record with a .695 winning percentage. Tech went 9-1 at the John Walker Soccer Complex matching the school record for most home wins set in 1996. WELCOME TO THE NCAA TOURNAMENT Texas Tech had never qualified for NCAA postseason play before the 2012 season. Though after finishing third in the Big 12 with five conference wins and advancing to the semifinals of the Big 12 Championships, the Red Raiders earned their first NCAA Championships bid in school history. Tech hosted the first round at the John Walker Soccer Complex and advanced to the second round with a 2-0 shutout of North Texas. TEXAS TECH - A PROGRAM ON THE RISE The 2012 season was another familiar step forward for the Texas Tech soccer program. For the fourth consecutive season the Red Raiders improved in the Big 12 standings finishing third in the highly-competitive league – their best conference finish school history. Meanwhile, Tech improved its win total from 2011 by six games – the largest single-season improvement of any Big 12 team. PROVING THEM WRONG - AGAIN For the third consecutive season, the Red Raider soccer team finished ahead of what the squad was predicted to finish in the preseason rankings. Texas Tech was tabbed to finish fifth in the 2012 Big 12 Preseason Poll and ended the season with the school’s

best conference finish in program history at third. The Red Raiders have meanwhile improved in the final Big 12 standings in four consecutive seasons.
