John Neely pitched 4.0 IP allowing one run and with three strikeouts to win his eighth game. Jamodrick McGruder (3-for-4), Stephen Hagen (3-for-6), Kevin Whitehead (2-for-4, 2 RBI) and Tomlinson (2-for-5, RBI) led the way offensively for Tech. David Paiz started on the mound pitching 6.1 innings allowing two runs and seven hits with four strikeouts.

Tech scored two in the bottom of the eighth but wouldn’t be able to finish off the comeback. Trey Masek pitched 6.1 innings allowing two runs on two hits with two strikeouts. Jamodrick McGruder (1-for-2, run), Stephen Hagen (1-for-3, 2 RBI), David Paiz (1-for-4) and Reid Redman (1-for-3) led Tech at the plate.

Despite four errors, Texas A&M cruised to the victory with seven players recording multi-hit games. Tech starter Robbie Kilcrease had his shortest career start (1.1 IP) while five Tech relievers were used in the game. Nick Popescu (3-for-4, 3 runs) and Kelby Tomlinson (3-for-5, 3 RBI) led the way for Tech at the plate. Tech’s 4-through-7 hole batters went a combined 10-for-19 with five runs and five RBI.

Bo Altobelli (2-for-3) and Barrett Barnes (2-for-4) led the charge at the plate for Tech. Barnes tallied Tech’s only RBI with a double to left in the fifth. Jamodrick McGruder reached base safely for the 39th consecutive game.

Reid Redman scored Tech’s first run with a safety squeeze while Jamodrick McGruder, the following batter, drove in Kevin Whitehead to give Tech a 2-0 lead. Tech also scored in the sixth on an RBI single to left field by Redman. David Paiz went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple. Maskek took the loss pitching 5.0 IP allowing 4 R, 5 H, 4 BB with 0 SO.

Kelby Tomlinson (2-for-4) and Reid Redman (2-for-3) were the only players in the game with a multi-hit game.

Hagen went 2-for-4 with four RBI while hitting the first opposite field homer (right field) of the season for Tech and the Red Raiders first grand slam since 2009. Barrett Barnes also doubled and drove in a run in Tech’s big inning while going 2-for-4 in the game.

Hagen broke the scoreless tie with a line shot solo blast in the second and Barnes provided the final blow with a two-run homer (8th of the season/22nd career) in the fifth. Brennan Stewart pitched 2.2 IP with two strikeouts to get the win, John Neely pitched 2 IP to get the save.

Aaron Corwin became the seventh Tech newcomer to earn a win, as he notched his first career win as a Red Raider pitching 1.1 IP. John Neely threw the final 2.1 innings to post his sixth save. Barrett Barnes (2-for-3, 2 runs, 2 RBI) hit two doubles and Stephen Hagen (2-for-5, 2 RBI) and David Paiz (2-for-4, run) each had multi-hit games for Texas Tech.

Jamen Parten took the loss pitching 2.1 innings allowing five runs and six hits with two walks. Jamodrick McGruder grabbed his 26th stolen base of the season going 1-for-3. Kelby Tomlinson went 1-for-2.

Tech had six players with a base hit, no Red Raider finished with multiple hits. Jamodrick McGruder went 1-for-3 and scored a run while stealing his 23rd base of the season. Barrett Barnes (1-for-4) drove in Tech’s only run.
