What to expect when self-isolating Health, welfare and wellbeing checks

If you’re feeling nervous or unsure about what the next few weeks will look like, kei te pai (all good). Everyone who starts isolation feels this way – it’s totally normal. While you are isolating at home, there will be a Tribal Connector who will check up on you regularly to make sure that you and your whānau are doing ok.

Within the first 24 hours of getting a Covid positive test result • Your health, welfare and wellbeing needs are discussed, and an isolation plan is worked out together with you.

Within the first 48 hours of getting your test result

Day 10

Days 11+

• Testing of your close contacts

• Final health check for vaccinated COVID-19 positive whānau.

• Anyone you live with will need to stay home for the entire time you are isolating.

• Get on top of your symptoms • Take care! • Call your Tribal or your Tribal Connector for a friendly ear and any needed support.

And remember if at any time you need urgent medical help or are having difficulties breathing, call 111 immediately. Tell them you have COVID-19 when you ring.

• Checking in to see that you’re doing ok. • Watching out for those symptoms. • If you stay symptom free for 72 hours, You’re done!

• We keep those daily health checks going in the meantime. • If someone else in your household tests positive for COVID-19, then that effects how long whanau in the household have to stay isolating. • At Day 14 Final health check for unvaccinated COVID positive whanau. If symptom free for 72 hours, yay! You’ve made it through.
