Kite Board / Wind Surf This thrilling sport is picking up speed both on the Douglas Channel and Lakelse Lake. The advantageous position of Terrace and Kitimat allows for thermal winds and northerly outflows just like other world-class kite and wind surf destinations. There are a number of different styles of kite boarding including freestyle or wake-style and all you need is wind and space. The beauty of this sport is that it can be enjoyed all year round. In the winter you’ll find die-hards turning their boards in for skis to hit the powder on a frozen lake or in the peaceful expanse of the backcountry.
Archery Archery, an ancient and noble sport is rapidly growing in the Northwest. The local archery club is inclusive to all archery disciplines practices by all ages with all equipment except crossbows.
