Introduction Every designer and every company that produces designs finds selfexpression through forms, products and emotions. What they create together travels all over the world. It is seen, touched, chosen and used by many people, and to some extent is a part of life everywhere. This is one of the capacities of good design, the ability to communicate with the masses as well as the individual. It is not always easy, but it is possible. What does not exist in nature has to be created and every good product is destined for the great repository of emotions that our planet has become. The ambition behind our designs and collections is to tell a story made up of ideas that are strong in many languages. As designers we are influenced by many people, architecture and nature, which is why if a world exists of objects that surround us, there also exists a world that surrounds objects, which we interact with and thus inspire us to create new things.

A Guide to Interior Designer's Fees –

The Different Fee Structures used by Designers

An interior designer is a professional who strives to make the given space, more beautiful and functional. The interior designer fees may vary from individual to individual depending upon many factors including individual projects, design ideas, geographical location of the project. But hiring an interior designer will certainly work wonders for your design project. Interior design is a profession on the rise and deals with accurate planning and designing of residential, industrial or commercial spaces to make them more functional. To create aesthetically beautiful and functional spaces, the assistance of a knowledgeable interior designer is essential. The interior designer’s fees vary depending on the project, designer, client, geographical location. Interior designers are trained professionals who are able to handle all stages of an interior designing project. Apart from knowledge in decorative aspects they will be familiar with the technical aspects of interior design too. They possess strong budgeting skills and have the ability to manage the installation of all the elements that will define a space. Normally, interior designers will be good at selecting colors, lighting, textures and materials including furniture, ornaments, curtains, rugs, artwork, carpets, and other accessories for interior decoration. Interior designers can plan the space dexterously and can carry out new construction projects as well as remodeling existing spaces with ease. While designing, they consider many aspects including building codes, health and safety. Interior designer fees vary depending on several factors. The designers may or may not incur fees for initial consultation. The ways in which interior designers charge for their services include:

  

 

   

Fixed fee: This fee is decided by taking into consideration the estimated working hours, size of the project, budget and other factors. A fixed fee is charged for completing the full range of services from the development of concepts through layout, specifications and ultimate installation. Hourly fee: This fee is charged based on the amount of time spent for completing a project or design. The hourly fee may vary depending on the geographical location, level of expertise and the demand for the service. Percentage based fee: A certain percentage of the total cost required for the project is taken as payment. Prior agreement should be made as to what should be done if the budget is increased or decreased in the future. Square foot-based fee: This is payment is based on the area of the work space and is usually employed for large commercial projects. Cost-plus: The interior designer purchases goods such as; furnishings and artwork which he sells to the client on a cost-plus basis, i.e. a specified percentage to which the client has agreed. Retail: Some interior designers charge based on the retail price of the materials, furnishings and other goods they received wholesale. Once a contract has been made to hire an interior design professional, he may ask for a retainer fee. This fee covers the designer’s time for planning the project. The billing methods vary for every designer. Many consider the interior designing service to be very expensive, but requesting the service of an interior designer can save you money by providing materials wisely and eliminating crucial errors in the design of your project.

Step 1: We'll meet the proposed client to discuss their style, choice of materials and their personal preferences to determine what they need. Step 2: A rough draft of what is needed or drawings will be obtained either through the client or their architect. At this point we'll visit the site to get a feel for the area and determine if site measurements can be taken. Then the design process can begin.

Step 3: Then a second meeting is scheduled with the client or architect to discuss our proposed designs and choice of materials. All of our designs are done on a professional design program in 3D format, which will show almost to the finest detail what the room will look like in the end. We will then leave a set of drawings with the client and they can determine if it suits their needs and what changes they would like.

Step 4: Once all of the designs and choice of materials have been approved, our Project Manager will go back to the site and take final measurements and check if the water and electrical points are correctly positioned. Step 5: At this stage manufacturing starts and throughout our process, we will constantly check with the builder to ensure that the site will be ready for our installation. Step 6: When the installation is finished, our Project Manager and Sales Representative will set up a final meeting with the client on site to ensure that the end product is up to their expectations. Then the project gets signed off by both parties and the project is complete.
