Starting more than 30 career games for the Eagles, he helped post an 8-4 record in his senior season on his way to earning first-team all-Mid State honors from The Tennessean and All-State selection from TSWA. With Sherrill anchoring the lines, Brentwood Academy was the state Division II runnerup in both his sophomore and junior seasons and reached the semifinals as a senior.
