In 2010 (Freshman): One of Tech’s starting pitchers, Archer appeared in 13 games last season, starting 12 of them and accumulating 49 innings pitched. Over the course of the year, he amassed a record of 3-and-2. He earned 33 strikeouts including a season-high six at Jacksonville State in a hard fought, 8-7 loss. AT SULLIVAN SOUTH HS: A two-time first-team all-conference selection, and 2009 Big 9 conference Player of the Year...was named all-region, All-Northeast Tennessee and Johnson City Press Super 22 after 2008 and 2009 seasons, was a second-team All-State selection in 2009…had an 8-1 record and 0.69 ERA as a senior...went 8-3 in 2009 with a 1.82 ERA, and hit .358 from the plate as a junior…drafted by the Oakland Athletics after his senior campaign.
