High School: Javon earned four varsity letters at Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, Georgia under Scott Bracco and Adam Griffin. During his senior season, his team went 21-4 while McKay averaged 17.4 points, 11.2 rebounds and two assists per game. He was honored as a McDonalds AllAmerican nominee, a member of the Gaca All-Star Team, the Dekalb County All-Star team, a Dekalb County Player of the Month and Player of the Year, and his team’s Most Outstanding Player and Most Improved Player. McKay helped to fuel his team to two regional championships, and appearances in the elite eight and final four during his freshman and sophomore campaigns. Personal: Born December 11, 1991, Javon is the son of Antonio and Trinna McKay. He intends to major in business and advertising.

Coach Sutton on Javon... “Javon is a talented freshman who is probably our best leaper already; he played in a very tough high school region at Dunwoody High School in Georgia and will bring athleticism to the wing position. Javon reminds me of Milone “Spark” Clark (a former Golden Eagle who scored 1000 points and played with the Harlem Globetrotters last year) with his ability to get above the rim.” 50
