Inc., an international leader in the production and development of a wide range of submersible motors. Each E-Tech product range is aligned with the requirements of minimum efficiency index (MEI) required by European Commission regulations.

Mapping Utilities Using Ground Penetrating Radars (GPR) Author: Ing. Marius Popovici, Micronix Plus SRL Mala Geoscience - Sweden Distributor Locating utilities has become lately a major problem due to the expansion of construction areas and infrastructure, and the need for maintenance works on pipes supplying water, gas and electricity. Most often there are no longer any documentation to help identify pathways or available information is incorrect. The article presents the technology of geo-radar equipment (GPR) and gives some examples of systems that can be used successfully in detecting and mapping utility. This article is addressed to interested readers to highlight different locations of pipelines, objects, metallic and non-metallic, electric cables, etc. buried in the ground, by scanning its surface. Using GPR systems allow detection of different types of ground, floors, foundations, holes in soil and aquatic soils with different composition. A very important feature of this method is that it is non-

destructive, not affecting in any way the areas inspected. Investigations are achieved through devices called Georadars or GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar). The principle of operation of a GPR is based on the issuance of some waves on the soil or in the structure of interest, where they are reflected and then received by a receiver. The most used GPR systems provided by MALA GS used for mapping utilities, equipped with HDR technology are: MALA Easy Locator HDR – Georadar system (GPR) dedicated for mapping utilities, designed for professionals; MALA Ground Explorer - professional georadar system with HDR technology; MALA ProEX – the most complex geo-radar system in the world; MALA MIRA – given that we have already said that MALA ProEX is the most advanced equipment in the world, MIRA can be characterized simply as a Super ProEX, actually a combination of several ProEX systems.

Polypropylene - New Generation of Plastics in Gravitational Systems PP Piping and Sewer Chambers In our era, the need to modernize sewer systems made of concrete led to plastic pipes made of PVC / PE / PP and hence the emergence of plastic chambers. These products have become usual, technological developments and benefits of the products generated a developed market, a vast assortment of products with excellent quality but sometimes precarious. The most devoted raw material is PVC. Used by more than 50 years to manufacture pressure pipes and sewer pipes polyvinyl chloride proved to be a versatile material, with a lifetime cheaper than expected. Recently in Germany were tested PVC pressure pipes that have worked for 50 years, and laboratory testing performed on these samples have shown that the raw material has changed much lower than foreseen, and the products produced can be put into practice with a life span of 100 years.

Pipelife was one of the first companies in the European market which has started production of Polypropylene PP-B sewer chambers for gravity discharge of wastewater, storm water sand industrial waters. Polypropylene PP-B (block copolymer) is the latest generation of thermoplastics combining PVC rigidity and flexibility of polyethylene, meeting the highest resistance and performance requirements that enable use under very different conditions with regard to soil and water. PP chambers are resistant to domestic waste waters, low and high temperatures, and thus can be widely used. High strength and toughness of PP chambers from Pipelife allow their installation in winter conditions. The article gives details about the PRO range of Pipelife products. Copper and Water - an Old Alliance Copper pipe is one of the favorite materials in technical applications of installations for

construction. Uniquely - copper pipe can be used in almost all areas of installations for construction: potable water and hot water systems, radiators heating or surfaces heating, natural gas, LPG, etc. It is extremely important the compliance with the design and execution norms, so the client can enjoy the benefits of copper piping systems fully functional. During the design and installation must be respected some rules that apply only to installations of copper pipes. It is important that in closed heating systems, copper pipe can be installed / combined with steel radiator or steel pipe, because in this system is insignificant the presence of diluted oxygen in water, so there is no danger of corrosion. In Romania there are no specific legal norms of work and technological procedures, for copper workings, so the article presents the regulations in force in Germany. Water in installations must have a stable pH between 6.5 and 9.5. Thus, water is compliant with quality norms and can be executed in copper pipes. If water comes from a well it is advisable to take samples and make an analysis of the water. It is not recommended water has not a pH between
