Umberto sigue siendo ejerciendo la función de gerente y director general de la empresa, que pasará a llamarse VDL Olocco, convirtiéndose en la 107ª empresa operativa del grupo. Dentro de la empresa, también permanecerá activa Andreana como gerente administrativa.

FLEXICAP – in the sign of maximum flexibility

FLEXICAP is an innovative filling and sealing machine for capsules, not only for coffee, but also for soluble products, tea, herbal leaves and liquids. It is available in different models from the entry level with 1 lane, for 70 capsules per minute, up to the one with 8 rows, with a capacity of up to 450 capsules per minute, according to the format and to the product to be filled.

The FLEXICAP series has been enriched in 2023 with new solutions, that have been included in an upcoming 6-lane machine, in the sign of maximum flexibility: unique in the segment of high-capacity capsule machines, Flexicap BR350/6 was already characterized by dynamism and production efficiency, as well as for the modularity of the entire system, which is accessible from all sides, with easy and rapid format and/or product change operations.

Omas Tecnosistemi R&D office has in fact developed and applied solutions that further enhance this modularity, allowing capsule producers to manage their production with maximum efficiency, with any product.

The only 6-lane capsule machine with the trolleymounted filling station, totally extractable from the machine structure in few minutes, FLEXICAP BR350/6 is now equipped with a trolley-mounted cut-and-seal station for the top lid with tilted film, adding the benefit of extracting the sealing station for any maintenance or set-up needs, to the optimization of cut: the result is the minimization of waste, very useful considering the prices of barrier films, multilayer or aluminum, or compostable ones.

Still in the cut-and-seal station, each punch is independent in the final sealing movement, enabling to manage the best sealing on each lane, and increasing capsules’ quality.

As an option, the FLEXICAP series can then be equipped with a vacuum seal verification system, guaranteeing peerless levels of performance, while vision systems or mechanical sensors verify the presence of top lids on 100% of capsules.

In order to improve further the coffee capsules’ quality, a nitrogen modulation system has been introduced in the FLEXICAP series in different process areas, and each flow can be adapted from the control panel to the needs of capsule manufacturer, to minimize the percentage of residual oxygen in the capsules, which in this way will have a longer shelf life, keeping for a long time the aroma and taste of coffee.

In the case of change-over with different soluble or leaf products, as well as between normal coffee and organically grown coffee, FLEXICAP BR350/6 allows an extremely rapid product changeover, in less than 5 minutes, thanks to the wheeled filling station, totally removable from machine’s structure, which has no equal in the market, enabling not only to improve production management, but also to optimize the warehouse of finished products, with small economic lots and high rotation of capsules; ultimately, this means that consumers get better quality capsules, since they have spent less time in the producers’ warehouse.

The flexibility of the FLEXICAP machines is also given by the format changeovers, which are the fastest in the sector, and not only give advantages in production; in fact, format changes have to be judged also in the machine’s life cycle: by reducing the risks due to a particularly unpredictable capsule market, it is possible, even after the first installation and with competitive investments, to integrate new capsule formats, without the need to acquire a new machine, until production is saturated.
