Texas Tech’s Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Stadium is home to a Mondo Super X track surface. There are eight (8) 48-inch lanes on the oval and eight (8) 48-inch sprint and hurdle lanes in the center of the track. Two pole vault runways run side-by-side on one side of the sprint lanes while two long and triple jump runways are on the other. The high jump apron is on the south end of the infield and allows two jumping pits to go at the same time. The remaining part of the infield contains two shot put rings (north & south) and the shots are thrown onto grass. All long throws (discus, javelin and hammer) will be contested at our throws area. There is a detailed map in this packet of information with directions via car and by foot from the main track complex. If driving, depart from the north end of the track complex & turn left out the parking lot, take the first left, then go to the first stop sign and go to the right. Go across the bridge until the first stop sign. Take a right and proceed to 4th Street (first stop light). Take a right on 4th Street and proceed to the Ranching Heritage Museum. Turn right into the entrance of the Ranching Heritage Museum and you will see the throws area on the east. Please park on the north end of the parking lot. You can also take the pedestrian bridge over the Marsha Sharp Freeway.
ENTRIES
Each team must submit entries via the Internet site hosted by Direct Athletics by 10 am CST on May 15. More information on the entry process will be provided by the conference office.
SPIKES
The use of only ¼”/6mm pyramid spikes [M-F brand, not UCS 7mm or needle tipped spikes] will be strictly enforced. Absolutely NO Christmas tree, needle tipped or blunt tipped spikes will be allowed. Shoes that have permanent spikes that do not meet the requirements in type or length will not be allowed. Athletes will be required to provide their spikes for inspection to enter the facility (through the team entrance –NE entrance of the track along Canton Ave.) and in the clerk’s area. All athletes & team staff will need to show their credentials to enter through this gate.
PRACTICE TIMES
Because of the set-up of our throws area we must schedule practice times for the three long throws. It will be as such: THURSDAY, MAY 15 FRIDAY, MAY 16 8 am – 10:30 am - Shot Put 8 am – 9 am - Discus Throw 11 am – 1 pm - Hammer Throw 1 pm – 3 pm - Discus Throw 3 pm – 5 pm - Javelin Throw SATURDAY, MAY 17 9 am – 10 am - Discus Throw Shot Put may be practiced (spins only, no throws) at the main track during regular practice times. The Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex will be open for practice on the following schedule: Thursday, May 15: Friday, May 16: Saturday, May 17:

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES
Athlete check-in will take place on the baseball field for all events except the long throws. Due to a conflict with a conference baseball series there will be some adjustments to the check-in procedures for events that occur during baseball game time. More information will be given later. The long throws (javelin, discus and hammer) will check-in at the event site at the throws area off 4th Street.

MEET INFORMATION Field event check-in: Athletes may check-in at the clerk’s area at any time. First call will be 45 minutes prior to competition for the horizontal jumps and throws, 60 minutes prior for the high jump, and 90 minutes prior for the pole vault. For each event, the last call to check-in at the clerk’s area will be 20 minutes prior to the start of competition. Field event competitors will be escorted to their competition venue on the following schedule: - Shot Put and horizontal jumps competitors - 35 minutes prior to competition. The final 15 minutes will be reserved for the competitors in the first flight. The second flight competitors will return to the warm up area and will be escorted back to the competition venue prior to the second flight. - High jump competitors - 45 minutes prior to competition. - Pole vault competitors - 75 minutes prior to competition. For running events, competitors should pick up hip numbers 30 minutes prior to the start of the event at the check-in area located just inside the baseball field. Athletes should report to the clerking area 10 minutes prior to the start of the event to be escorted to the track.
PREFERRED LANES
100m & 110m events: 4-5-3-6-2-7-8-1 200m & 400m events: 5-6-4-7-3-8-2-1 Please consult the Big 12 Track & Field Manual for qualifying procedures for all events.
IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN PROCEDURES
Weigh-in for all throwing events will be conducted at the throws facility located on 4th street. Implements must be weighed in no later than TWO (2) hours prior to the start of the event competition. No implements will be accepted for certification after that point in time.
IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN WILL BE CONDUCTED DURING THE FOLLOWING TIMES
Implement weigh-in will be conducted during the following times: Friday, May 16: .....................10 am – 4:30 pm Saturday, May 17: ...............9 am – 5 pm Sunday, May 18: ..................8 am – 12 pm
All implements may be brought to the weigh-in area during any available time period. However, we strongly suggest that implements be turned in as early as possible to allow for an efficient weighing and certification process. All implements are to be reclaimed from the weigh-in area following the vent. No implement should be taken away from the competition area by any athlete or coach. Shot Puts will be claimed at the track after the competition.
INFIELD USAGE
The infield is off limits to all coaches and athletes unless competing in an event. Designated coaches’ boxes will be enforced for field events.
CHALK/TAPE
Athletic tape is the only marking device to be used. Duct tape & chalk is prohibited.
TENTS
The team tents will be located on the EAST side of the Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex. It is highly recommended that each team rent a tent and/or additional items. PARKING
Team bus & team van parking will be located in Z-5 lot (located to the south of the track off Flint Avenue). All requested parking passes will be placed in your packets picked up at the coaches meeting. The student-athlete entrance will be at the gate at the NORTHEAST entrance to the Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex. The student-athletes & team staff will be required to show their credentials in order to enter the facility.
ATHLETE DROP OFF
Buses at team vans will be allowed to drop off student-athletes, team staff, and team equipment at the student-athlete entrance gate at the northeast corner of the track on Canton Ave. Buses will have ample space to turn around at the end of Canton Ave. and make their way to the Z-5 parking lot. All buses & team vans will need to park in the Z-5 parking lot.

MEET INFORMATION HEAT SHEETS & RESULTS
Meet Results will be distributed to credentialed members of the media as soon as they are available. For complete results visit www.texastech.com or www.big12sports.com or www.deltatiming.com. Compiled daily results will be made available at the completion of each day of competition at www.TexasTech.com via the Big 12 Meet Central Page. Complete results at the conclusion of the meet will also be published online. Post Competition Interviews: Interviews with student-athletes must be arranged and approved through the respective institution’s athletics communications contact. Only credentialed members of the media may be allowed to interview student-athletes inside the competition area.
CREDENTIALS
Credentials will be issued at the coaches meeting on Thursday night. Credentials will be issued to all student-athletes, coaches, managers, trainers, SID personnel and university administrators. The credential request form is due Monday, May 12, 2014.
BIB NUMBERS
Each student athlete will receive a name bib and a number bib. The name bib is to be worn on the front & the number bib is to be worn on the back of the uniform. Pole vault and high jump student-athletes only need to wear the name bib.
HOSPITALITY
The hospitality area will be located in the SOUTHWEST area of the Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex. It can only be accessed with an event credential. Coaches, officials and administrators will be admitted with proper credentials. Meals will be served with lunch being 12-1 pm each day and Saturday & Sunday dinner will be from 5 – 7 pm.
AWARD CEREMONIES
Awards will be presented at the Terry & Linda Fuller Track & Field Complex on the field following the completion of the event as time permits. Full consideration will be given to those student-athletes competing in multiple events. An awards schedule will be given later.
TICKETS Tickets to the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be general admissions on a first come, first serve basis. Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Texas Tech Ticket office at (806) 742-4412 or online at www.texastech.com. Tickets will not be available until the first date of competition. $10 for adults (single day) $5 for youth/students*: ages 2-18 (single day) *current student at any Big 12 institution with a valid ID The Big 12 conference will have no complimentary admission for the championship event. If any school wants to purchase tickets for studentathletes per NCAA policy, please bring a pass list to the coaches meeting on Thursday, May 15. Each school will be billed by our ticket office for the tickets purchased.
PROTEST & APPEALS
The protest and appeals area is located at the SOUTHWEST corner of the track near the common finish line. All protests must be filed on the official protest form within thirty (30) minutes after the official results are announced.
RELAY CARDS
Each team will receive two relay cards per gender. Relay cards will be turned in to the clerk of the course when checking in for the event.
WEIGHT ROOM AVAILABILITY
The weight room is located in the Athletic Training Center/Indoor Track Facility, directly south of the Jones A T & T Stadium. It will be open during the week from 8 am – 5 pm and Saturday and Sunday by request only.
HEAD PHONES
No head phones and /or electronic devices will be allowed in the competition areas, including the track, the jumping venues, or the throwing venues as defined by the NCAA rule book.
