JUNIOR SEASON (2012) Continued to be one of the top hitters in the Big 12 Conference as well as the nation ... earned All-Big 12 second team honors for the second-consecutive year ... also an Academic All-Big 12 first team selection as well ... started and played in all 58 games at first base ... finished with a .301 average that was third-highest among Texas Tech’s regulars ... connected on 11 home runs to help bolster an offense that totaled a school-record 66 long balls on the year ... her 11 home runs ranked her eighth in singleseason history alongside Elyssa Sigala (2004) ... finished second on the team with 45 RBI which ranked seventh all-time in single-season history ... also appeared in the single-season record book for a .558 slugging percentage (10th) and 37 walks (tied for second) ... snapped the school record with 474 putouts ... totaled 40 more putouts that previous record holder Tamara Harrington (1998) ... ranked third on the team with nine doubles and 91 total bases ... went 2-for-4 in the season opener against San Diego State with a pair of home runs ... was one of three multiple-home run games for her as she also belted two dingers against Seton Hall on March 16 and Oklahoma State on May 6 ... matched her career high for hits on Feb. 19 with a 4-for-4 performance against Utah State ... also drove in four RBI against the Aggies ... also totaled four RBI three more times on the year against Seton Hall (March 16), Texas A&M (April 18) and Oklahoma State (May 6) ... was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on Feb. 21 after hitting over .400 with a pair of home runs at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic ... marked the second time James had earned a conference weekly award ... finished with 11 multiple-hit games, third-most on

believed to be the second-most all-time ... two of her home runs have been grand slams ... also added nine doubles, two triples, and a .772 slugging percentage ... came close to snapping the school record for walks in a year with 37 ... began the year slow with a 3-for-14 showing at the Kajikawa Classic ... eventually got her bat going as Tech returned home for 25-straight home games ... had two hits and four RBI in both games of the doubleheader against New Mexico ... finished an eight-game stretch from New Mexico into the Masked Rider Invitational 12-for-18 at the plate with six home runs and 20 RBI ... was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for her success ... helped pull Tech back into the game with Liberty, nailing a two-run homer ...
