The departmental cumulative grade-point average for Spring 2009 was 2.957. In Fall 2008, it was 2.932. The all-sport GPA for Spring 2009 was 2.905, while it was 2.944 in Fall 2008.

More than 50 percent of the studentathletes had GPAs over 3.0 in the Spring 2009 semester, including 25 percent at 3.5 or higher.

Twenty-seven student-athletes posted a 4.0 GPA in the Spring 2009 semester, while 26 achieved the mark in Fall 2008.

Thirteen of 20 athletics programs carry GPAs over 3.0, and 15 are above the 2.9 mark.

Seventy-four Frogs made the Dean’s List in the Spring 2009 semester. Eighty-three made the list in Fall 2008.

Eighty-one TCU student-athletes (31 in December, 50 in May) graduated during the 2008-09 academic year.

Two former TCU student-athletes were named recipients of the NCAA Degree Completion Award for 2008-09.

Fifty-one Horned Frog student-athletes were named 2008-09 MWC ScholarAthletes.

Based on the 2007-08 data, the TCU Athletic Department’s APR was the highest in five years of reporting at 973. For five consecutive years, the overall departmental rolling APR score has risen and is now at a 966.

TCU had 193 student-athletes named as Collegiate All-America Scholars by the United States Achievement Academy for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Four TCU student-athletes were honored as 2009 recipients of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sport Scholar Award: Melissa Loh (firstteam Women’s Golf ); Kevin Langford

Both the TCU Men’s Cross Country and the Women’s Tennis programs earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for perfect multi-year APR scores of 1,000. Only the top 10 percent of teams are presented with this award. After the Fall 2003 semester, there were only five teams over a 3.00 GPA. After the Spring 2009 semester, the TCU Athletics Department had 13 teams over the 3.00 mark and 15 over the 2.90 mark.

The College Swimming Coaches of America Association awarded TCU’s men’s and women’s swimming squads with Academic All-America honors for both the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 semesters. This is the 34th time the women have claimed the honor. 25 27
