WELCOME TO TABOR COLLEGE!

The start of the academic year is always full of excitement! What will the 2024-25 school year bring? I see new opportunities in a welcoming place where both new and familiar faces come together to learn from each other. I see us having fun and growing together in the faith. I am truly thankful that you will be a part of what God has planned for us at Tabor College.

As the Dean of Student Life, my role is to serve the Tabor community. That looks a little different for each individual student, and part of the excitement for me is getting to know each of you so that I can be of better service. Tabor is a diverse campus with a wealth of history and precious talents. We are greatly blessed, and it is an honor to walk God’s path with you all.

The Bluejay Resource Guide will be your roadmap during this upcoming school year. It is packed with information to make sure you are prepared for a wonderful year. The information within this Resource Guide will help answer questions, give you important dates, and highlight the many ways you can get involved in the 2024-2025 year.

Tabor is a place of community. The strength of our community determines the strength of Tabor. I urge you to be inquisitive, be courageous, and GET INVOLVED. What can you bring to Tabor? How can you bless your classmates? Sign up for a little or sign up for a lot. There are so many exciting opportunities to explore. Tabor is, and always will be, about the students. Imagine what God has planned for you, envision your life in His will, and find your place in the Tabor Community.

Peck’m & Wreck’m Go Bluejays! Ian Thomson, Dean of Student Life, Learning and Formation

BEING

Spiritual Life

Spiritual Formation and Community

Life is more than a program. It is a way of living! Our Spiritual Formation programs are designed to cultivate an environment for spiritual growth on our campus. The primary way we promote this is through regularly scheduled chapels each week. Spiritual Formation also oversees small groups and coordinates with departments for missions opportunities.

Small Groups

Bible studies, discipleship groups and student led ministries are also available at various times throughout the week and at various locations on campus. Small group ministries are a place where students can connect and grow as they learn how to follow God together.

Chapel

Welcome into a chapel journey where we will learn what it means that we are “Being Transformed.” Our theme is inspired by the transformative and counter-cultural nature of the Kingdom of God, as taught by Jesus. This theme delves into the idea that God's Kingdom often operates in a way that is contrary to the world's expectations—turning our understanding of power, success, and priorities inside out and upside down.

The Kingdom of God is a realm where the world's values are turned inside out and upside down by the transformative power

Global Outreach

Students have the opportunity to travel to various foreign countries to experience learning and life in a different culture, to do onsite studies, research, or work alongside missionaries as they minister to their communities. We are tentatively planning trips to Europe, Uganda, Nepal and Portugal.

Chapel

Tabor College holds chapel weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays where staff, faculty and students come together to worship, hear God’s Word and connect to one another.

of God. In this Kingdom, the humble are exalted, the weak are made strong, the last become first, and we’re transformed from the inside out. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, we will explore a Kingdom where service is the highest calling, where the poor in spirit find immeasurable wealth, and where love conquers all.

Throughout this year, we will dig into the mysteries of this Kingdom, diving into the counter-cultural teachings of Christ that challenge our current understanding and invite us to see the world through a different lens – a Kingdom lens. Join us as we journey together, discovering the beauty of an inside-out, upside-down kingdom that calls us to live by the principles of grace, humility, and sacrificial love. May our hearts and minds be transformed as we align our lives with the profound wisdom of the One who turns the world's expectations on their head.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A BLUEJAY

GOBLUEJAYS BIBLE GO BIBLE

CHRIST-CENTERED The primary value for all Bluejays is centering themselves on Christ. Everything that is done, flows from it. LEARNING

Bluejays learn inside and outside of the classroom and grow as broadly educated, competent and well-rounded learners who embrace the joy of learning. COMMUNITY Bluejays support and hold each other accountable so that all feel like they belong. INVOLVEMENT

Bluejays participate in and outside of the classroom. SERVICE Serving is at the heart of a Christ-centered education. Bluejays care for others in all that we do.
