Bryan Conger Baseball • 6th Year Overall Record (153-107-2) In his sixth season with the Texans, Conger led the baseball team to its first-ever LSC Championship after going 34-16-1 overall and 21-7 in conference play... Led the Texans to the NCAA South Central Region tournament in 2011... First coach to be ranked and has led the Texans to a national ranking for the past three years.
Jerry Doyle Women’s Golf • 14th Year Led the TexAnn golf team to six straight NCAA Division II West Regional championships from 2007-11… The TexAnns finished last season sixth in the nation, marking the seventh straight top-six finish at the national tournament... Led the TexAnns to its sixth-consecutive LSC championship title this past season.
Lance Drake Women’s Tennis • 13th Year The TexAnn tennis team has been invited to 10 of the last 11 NCAA Division II Regional Tournaments under the helm of Coach Drake… Last year’s team was ranked as high as No. 17 in the nation while reaching the LSC Championship Tournament semifinals.
Cary Fowler Football • 4th Year overall record (15-17) Completed his second straight winning season in 2012, despite a young team of 68 players at sophomore status or less... Finished the 2011 season on a five-game winning streak to secure his first winning season with Tarleton in just his second year as head coach... After spending two seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Texans, Fowler took over the program in 2010 and finished with a 3-8 record... Helped the Texans reach the 2009 NCAA Division II Playoffs and advanced two rounds.
Ronnie Hearne Women’s Basketball • 11th Year Overall Record (190-98) Led the TexAnns to their first LSC Championship and Tournament Championship in school history in 2011-12... Has led the TexAnns to 10 consecutive winning seasons and 10 consecutive trips to the LSC Tournament… Earned his 1000th career victory with a 78-70 win over Eastern New Mexico on January 4, 2012... against Angelo State in 2009... His team advanced to its fifth NCAA Division II South Central Regional last season... Led the program to its first-ever win in the NCAA national tournament with a victory over Southeastern Oklahoma in 2011... Clinched school’s first ever LSC South Division title in 2011.
Julie Mata Softball • 18th Year Overall Record (487-351-3) Led the team to three NCAA national tournaments in the program’s history... Team has qualified for the LSC championship tournament in 11 of the last 16 years under Mata… Led the TexAnns to their best finish in school history in 2007 in the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament... Reached 450-win plateau during the 2012 season.
Pat Ponder XC/Track & Field • 6th Year Had 13 Tarleton track and field athletes qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships, including a bronze-medal winner in 2012... Led the Texan track and field team to a fourth-place finish and the TexAnn team to a fifth-place finish in 2013... Has coached an All-American in each of the past two seasons...Coached men’s XC team to third place and women’s to sixth at the LSC Championships... Coached the men’s cross country team to the NCAA regional meet in 2012.
Lonn Reisman Men’s Basketball • 26th Year Overall Record (530-226) Has led the Texans to 10 South Central Regional Tournament in 11 years… Has recorded 21 winning seasons including 15 seasons with 20 or more wins… Claimed his 500th Tarleton victory in January 2012 with a win over Texas A&M-Commerce... Has a 530-226 record in the last 25 seasons, including and impressive 342-62 record in Wisdom Gym... Led the Texans to the LSC Tournament Championship in 2013.
Mary Schindler Volleyball • 9th Year Overall Record (141-112) Led the TexAnns to three straight LSC Championship Tournament semifinals... Qualified for the LSC Tournament in six of the last seven years... Earned LSC Coach of the Year in 2008 after leading TexAnns to a 22-10 record and second-place finish... Was a four-year letterwinner for the TexAnns.
