Aim The aim of the study is to improve the Albanian legislation on OTC drugs, its limitations and implementation as of right of EU directives supporting the legislation of EU member states.

Conclusions At the end of this study we identified the problems in situation of Albania and also the steps that should be taken in having a more complete legislation according to the European law. The lawmakers are obliged to amend as soon as possible necessary classification criteria, advertising and review the list of OTC drugs.
