Our alumni Eric Go studied hospitality at TAFE NSW – Sydney Institute and is now the proud owner of three Australian themed restaurants in Surabaya, Indonesia. Eric is a strong advocate for the value of training and continues to pass on knowledge he acquired at Sydney Institute to his own staff. Eric says that studying at Sydney Institute allowed him to work with people from different nationalities and experience their culture and community. It also taught him to be polite, professional, precise, effective, efficient, resourceful, useful to others, independent, mature and allowed him to be a better person.

Charlotte Gelugne Graduate, Bachelor of Design (Interior Design)

Charlotte came to TAFE as a French international student. Having excelled in her studies and successfully completed the Advanced Diploma of Interior Design, she enrolled in the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design), the first degree course offered at TAFE NSW.

Charlotte has also been a very active member of the TAFE community working with fellow students on a wide variety of design awards and projects. She is a past President of the Student Association and currently works as the Student Services Officer at the Enmore campus. This was a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and to gain industry experience through the design internship program that we undertook as part of the degree course. I’m excited about being one of the first graduates from TAFE’s first bachelor degree and feel the diploma studies really set me up for the challenge.

I definitely recommend coming to TAFE. It is good quality; the learning is interactive, efficient, useful, factual, case studies, up-to-date including news and politics. My assessments were manageable with realistic time frames and there is great support and structure with help at hand.

I came to Australia for quality education and completed a Diploma in Management at Sydney Institute. I then gained over a semester of credits for my degree program at the University of Wollongong. I have just completed a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Management, and am now planning to study a Masters of Supply Chain and Logistics Management. I would definitely recommend studying at Sydney Institute, even more so now they offer degrees.

When I finish my Advanced Diploma of Marketing I am hoping to go to France to get a job and learn another language. I hope with the skills I have gained from my marketing and English courses will assist me in getting a job. Back in Brazil, my course and the fact I have studied overseas, will be highly recognised by employers. I would definitely recommend Sydney Institute to others – it is a little more expensive than other Colleges but the teachers are very committed and the quality of training is excellent.

My study at Sydney Institute will help me because I have improved my English but the best thing of all is that I have developed my skills for working in the tourism industry. Having studied overseas will definitely make me more employable in Chile. When I return to Chile I will use my new qualification to look for a job in a tourism company including the skills I have learnt for working in an office.

My studies are definitely giving me the skills and understanding to plan for my future – I always wanted to be a Graphic Designer. I would definitely recommend TAFE because of the quality – the teachers are great – they know what they are doing. The biggest surprise has been the cultural diversity – I expected to have a group of Asian friends but I hang out with everyone and my best friend is Greek. I love exploring other cultures.

TAFE is a valued qualification and will help in my goal to become a CPA and study a Masters at the University of Western Sydney. One of the best things about Sydney Institute is its stable and reliable reputation. My TAFE qualification will help me get a good job with a multinational. The campus, trainers and location are all very nice.

Australia is a great country and Sydney is a beautiful city. It is more than I expected – the teaching is very advanced. My business diploma includes marketing strategies which are just like the real world. Study here is much more practical, professional and directly related to the industry. Studying in Sydney is definitely worthwhile – it’s the place to be, and safe too.
