Washington Monthly Ranks Tacoma Community College Among Nation’s Top 50 Community Colleges The magazine Washington Monthly places Tacoma Community College among the top 50 community colleges in the nation and the top 5 in the state. According to the publication, TCC ranks 46th in the nation and 4th in the state of Washington. Five Washington colleges made the “Top 50” list. The publication rejects traditional college-ranking criteria. According to the college ranking issue’s introduction: “Instead of lauding colleges for closing their doors to all but an elite few, we give high marks to institutions that enroll low-income students, help them graduate, and don’t charge them an arm and a leg to attend.”
