Greetings to one and all and welcome to our Justamere 23rd Annual Bull Sale. The weather has been a serious factor this year on the prairies, the winter calving has had its challenges for us all. However, it is remarkable what those little Angus calves can adapt to and indeed not only survive but thrive in. We just got done pictures yesterday and what a nice day it was, both weather wise and working with the cattle and people that make it happen for all of us at Justamere. This year’s bulls are without any doubt our most complete and uniform group of bulls to date. The exciting pen 1 bull group have been a dream to work with, Jon and his crew have halter broke them as well as spent the extra time to make them a quiet, easy to work with group. We have several solid herdsire candidates sired by, 74-51 Sudden Look, EXAR Blue Chip, Justamere Trademark and C&C Thriller also a special son of EXAR Stud 4658B that is sure to be sought out. New this year the first sons to sell by Semex sire Freys Opportunity 148A. These bulls have a tremendous well balanced EPD profile and offer certain different genetics. The calving ease sire, Justamere Washington 602B worked very well for us in the heifer pen the last couple seasons and we are happy to offer more of his low birth weight, high growth genetics. Also, several sons sell by our EXAR Lutton 0409 herdsire. He is an ET bull that is out of the immortal WCC Frontier Gal 39, a past Denver Champion and more importantly a top income producer across North America. 0409 is sire to the $140,000 Justamere Full Throttle and he continues to excite with each calf crop. We are always working to improve our own program and upgrade by the use of embryo transplant and last year we had a great conception on implanted embryos which left some very exciting March and April born herdsires. There are three awesome sons of EXAR Blue Chip out of donor dam EXAR Ruth 0091, two sons of 74-51 Sudden Look out of Justamere Fay 869T a full sibling to the great Justamere Tiffany 203Y and an exciting Koupal Kozi out of 0091. These young bulls are a very interesting part of a tremendous offering of Justamere Angus bulls. We have strived from day one for calving ease, growth to weaning, strong maternal and excellent feet and legs and structural soundness. The carcass aspect has always been a feature throughout our herd as we only utilize bulls that register above average ribeye coupled with a high IMF score. The cattle business is definitely on the upswing, solid heifer retention coupled with excellent calf prices make this a rewarding and exciting business to be in. We also want to thank our long-term consignor Running Steady Ranch for offering six great yearlings sired by EXAR Outcross and Justamere Cash In 461A, both bulls offer a great future in this business. Our good friend Ken Warriner from the Wainwright area is 91 years young and asked us to let him put a few bulls in the sale. They are consistent with our low birth, high growth problem free philosophy. Finally, we also offer a few select embryo matings and some special, hard to acquire semen to the sale and we feel we have met that challenge once again this year. All Cattle Are Sold: Subject to such tests as required for export under regulations of the Health of Animals Branch, Department of Agriculture for Canada - those corresponding to Bureau of Animal Industry requirements.
Insurance: Ownership risk to purchaser commences when the Auctioneer’s hammer falls. Livestock coverage will be available at the clerk’s desk from the appointed representatives on sale day, also from the sale management at any time.
Breeding Guarantee: All cattle are sound and right, and all with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions, standard with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association shall apply. Announcements: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Genetics Testing: All cattle in the 2018 Bull Sale are Anthrogryposis Multiplex Free (AMF) and (NHF) Neuropothic Hydrocephalus Free or listed as No Carrier Ancestry. Holding and Shipments: Approximately one week is required for export transfers and other documents to be processed. Export animals will be held at no charge and under excellent care. Joint export shipping arrangements to attain minimum shipping cost will gladly be made by the sale management if instructions to that effect are provided to clerk of the sale when settlement is made.
Terms Of Sale: Are cash or cheque at par, payable to Clerks of the Sale on Sale Day. U.S. Funds will be accepted at the current rate of exchange. No release will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made. We reserve the right to withhold animals from export shipment for whom payments have not been received prior to departure times. Every Animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. All Persons who attend the Sale do so at their own risk, and the Owners, Consignors, Sale Management and Sale Staff assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for property loss or for any accidents that may occur.
