Donald Valiton Donald was born in 1952, a long-time California native. He was always interested in the outdoors, hiking, backpacking and climbing many of the peaks in the Sierras. This interest led him ro obtain a degree in forestry engineering. He worked for many years for the forestry service in Oregon, where he met his wife Sally, a school teacher. They moved to Ridgecrest in 1986, where Don switched from the forest service to the United States Postal Service, (still enjoying the outdoors but without the winter). After retiring from the post office he was able to continue his love of hiking. Don is survived by his wife, Sally Valiton, mother May Valiton, and sister and brother-in-law Pat and John Wurderman. A celebration of life will be held November 1st at Crossroads Community Church at 11am with a pot luck reception following.

Mike Mower Michael Raymond Mower at age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Oct 21, 2023, afer a long struggle with colon cancer. He was born in San Bernardino, C on May 6, 1944, to Ross and Iva Jean Mower.
Mike is survived by his wife, Paula, (his first wife and mother of six of his children Sally Mower) all ten of his children Ginny Rusher, Mindy Mower, Shelly lger, James Mower, Matt Mower, and Danny Mower, Laura Dobkins, Brent Murray, Brooke Lauritizen, Emma Mower and their spouses, 27 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his three siblings Linda Rammel, Shery Lowry, Bill Mower and their spouses. He is preceded in death by his father and mother and his older brother Don Mower.

3 packages (9 ounces each) fresh baby spinach 1 small red onion, chopped 1 tablespoon butter 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, cubed 1 cup sour cream 1/2 cup half-and-half cream 1/3 cup plus 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided 3 garlic cloves, minced 1/8 teaspoon pepperd 1 tablespoon snipped fresh dill 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt 8 butter-flavored crackers, coarsely crushed
Preheat oven to 350°. Place in a steamer basket; place in a large saucepan over 1 in. of water. Bring to a boil; cover and steam for 3-4 minutes or just until wilted. Transfer to a large bowl. In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Reduce heat to low; stir in the cream cheese, sour cream, half-and-half, 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese, garlic and pepper. Cook and stir until cream cheese is melted. Stir in dill, seasoned salt and spinach. Transfer to an ungreased 2-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with cracker crumbs and remaining Parmesan cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes or until edges are bubbly.
